Hi, Just a question about the yellow wire that is on the front circuit breakers of our Escape 201. Is this wire - highlighted on the image - for the optional motorized hitch jack? If so does this wire just go back into the body and isn't connected to anything but can be pulled out and connected to a jack if needed? If it's not for the jack, what is it connected to as we can't figure out what it does. Thanks in advance, Paul

Just a wild guess, maybe the charge line that goes to the 7 way?

Why not disconnect it and see what quit working?
It appears you have two circuit breakers under the strap, do you have a solar setup?
Those circuit breakers are shaped like a bathtub and are not sealed well, I would flip that entire assembly upside down so the bathtubs don't fill with water.

If memory's correct that will go to the brake away switch, you should be able to follow it.

Thanks for the replies. Excuse my ignorance but what's the 7 way? When it's disconnected, nothing appears to stop working and that's the mystery. The manual talks about the 10amp circuit breaker, which this is connected to, being for the optional electric tongue jack but the wire goes back into the body of the van so assume it's connected to something?

Think he's talking 7 pin socket from the RV to tow vehicle

Probably a whole different deal... But... my 2017 Durango, I looked in the junction box where my '7 way' cord comes in... there was a Yellow wire just capped off... it heads back to somewhere. Nothing does not work, everything seems proper... That's just the way I found it. Wire colors seem to be meaningless once inside the unit.... who can say.

Wire colors are pretty much meaningless everywhere, given the "normal" state of RV construction. G*d forbid that they actually make wire looms and use wire trays. Lyle

My guess is that your capped off wire is for backup lights, if equipped.

Turns out it's for the Solar Panel pre-wired plug, figured that out by pulling out the wires connected to that plug and eventually the yellow wire came through! Thanks for all the replies.
