I’m curious as to the make/model of steps come on the Durangos? I know the 391RKQ has a 4 step unit. I’m looking in to handrails to assist entry for some aging knees … it looks like Lippert and mor-ryde both make these.

Mine has the Lippert brand, which they market as Sure Step. MorRyde steps are called Step Above I believe. When looking for our trailer we saw other brands with the add on rails. We opted for the larger loop handle on the trailer directly. The Lippert has a slightly larger top step, or landing. Kirt

I have the Lippert Solid Steps on mine. There are hand rails and lift-assist kits available on Amazon. I’m thinking seriously about adding both to mine for the exact reasons you just stated. My mom used to always say “Getting old is not for whimps!” I believe she was a wise lady!

hank The newer Durango's come with Lippert brand (LCI), which are Sure Step, the older Durango's a few years back came with MorRyde steps called the Step Above .... The difference in the two is the LCI has a bigger platform on the top step ... Also there is different with the width of both brands of steps according to your door size, so be careful ... I'm not sure if the MorRyde hand rails and lift-assist kits available on Amazon would fit the LCI Sure Step I would check bolt patterns 1st ... When putting on the lift-assist you have to drill out the rivets on the top step, then re-rivet the lift-assist hinge to the new steps ... The holes matched perfectly with our MorRyde steps but with the bigger platform on' the LCI steps it makes me wonder, be interesting to here when someone puts them on ... I am really supersized (I have not looked lately) if LCI hasn't come out with a lift-assist, seems like when MorRyde comes out with something 4 or 5 months later LCI come out with something that looks similar but just a little bit different
