Can anyone shed some ligh ton this. I took out the mocrowave and noticed that there is a precision circuits Power share switch installed on that circuit which also runs teh outlest under the cabinets. Here is the sheet from the Precision Circuit website and a couple of pictures of what I am talking about

I guess your microwave is going off when something else is turned on?
If you want the microwave to have priority, reverse the primary and secondary wires.
The real problem is that there should be a separate circuit for the microwave run from your distribution box, but perhaps KZ cheaped out and used a breaker box with not enough spaces, or they just wanted to save a bit of wire. I would upgrade the system as needed.

There probably isn't enough electrical capacity for the microwave, AC, Water heater, and other high amp draw items, so the loads are switched to prevent two heavy loads being used at the same time. At least this switch is automatic, back in the day, coaches had an "either-or" (never in an obvious place) switch you had to manually switch. This was the source of lots of "why doesn't my microwave work"? complaints.

Looks like I have more research to do. It still isn't acting correctly. The dealership had no idea what I was talking about so I had to send them pictures. Go figure.

Ok, The dealer needs to: Determine exactly what is connected to this power share device aside from the microwave. According to the Trouble shooting guide (see link) power to the primary appliance isn't disconnected, the secondary appliance is allowed to run when the primary isn't drawing power. So... While the microwave should be the primary, it could be wired as the secondary, so it gets shut off when the other load comes on- and this could be the water heater or maybe the 110V side of the refrigerator- both will be cycling on and off as temps require. link

Personally I don't see KZ putting in a power management system, they are not cheap. A buddies class A has one and it adds and drops loads as it reaches max, it knows whether he is on 30 or 50 amps and you can watch the "amp" draw.

Well I found what it is. The electric fireplace and microwave are wired to the power share device. I guess I can let the dealer know now so they can let the next person know.

Poor mans power management, I would think running separate wires would cost less. They can't run another wire, running both at the same time probably exceed the 30A capacity. This device is an either-or. Microwave should be primary load, so the FP won't run unless the microwave is off.

Yes both of those items draw a lot of power when runing so it would exceed the 30 amps in some cases. Not a huge deal now that I figured it out. Since I live in North Texas most of the time the fireplace will nto be used so it's not that big a deal that the microwave is secondary but that does make some sense to me to switch the wires around. Maybe they have a reason for it but I should probably leave it the way it is while it is under warranty.
