So, I opened and closed the awning today. The gas strut closest to the door creaked and popped like my old knees. Yesterday it was fine, and today was warmer drier day. Any thoughts? Is it wise to lubricate the piston rod, I did wipe it off to make sure it was dust free. Thanks Kirt

Kirt I every so often use a little of Blaster 50 for Garage doors, it is dry lube an will not accumulate dust or dirt ... I'm not saying put allot on, just a quick spray, I also use it on the slide guides very sparely ... I'm sure other owners use other things as well Safe Travels Chuck

I spray silicone on the struts and in the roller tract when it starts making noise & chatters.

I keep a can in my truck, a can in the camper, a couple of cans in the garage, 2 or 3 more cans in the shop... it doesn’t collect dirt nearly as bad as most spray lubricants. Good stuff! Jay
