Can anyone tell me how the am antenna is setup in the Durango 1500(2013)? I could not find an AM antenna on the camper. The camper came with a Jensen 965 which uses a Motorola plug for AM and FM signal input to the Jensen. This is a single input as Jensen for some unknown reason does not have separate FM and AM connections. Doesn't have a headphone jack either. The connection to the Jensen comes off a splitter that also runs to the TV antenna connection. This seems wrong to me. While the FM signal is OK it's almost impossible to pick up any AM stations. I compared this to a little Red Cross radio and the Red Cross radio picks up numerous stations. If they are using the TV antenna for AM reception, in my situation that does not work. This may sound minor but in the fall we like to listen to football programs for the university we follow. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try the AM with the antenna amplifier turner on? A TV antenna will work fine for FM, but you may need to install a automobile type antenna to get the best omnidirectional AM/FM reception.

Not sure what you mean about a antenna amplifier tuner on? Didn't see anything like that. The TV antenna booster (if that's what you mean) is on. I agree with you that a an AM/FM antenna is probably needed. KZ can you help me out here? Thanks for the response lynnmor.

Yes, that was at typo, I meant turned on. The switch not only disconnects the 12 volt power, but also disconnects the antenna cable.
The Jensen is not a great radio. I use AM as well and carry a portable Superadio III Portable AM/FM. I think that they are no longer made, but there is still some on Ebay.

Ok so I talked to Jensen and they are going to send me an AM/FM Dipole antenna at no charge since the way my KZ is hooked up they are trying to use the TV antenna for AM. That will not work well at all. They should change that practice in my opinion although we certainly like the D295CS to date. Thanks again lynnmor.
