Hi Everyone
We're new to the forum and to KZ. Our 5th wheel has been on order for a few months and finally will be entering production line on 1/15. We are full timers and have been living in a Columbus 320 RS for a few years. We love our current rig but living in it has shown us a few things. Mainly and primary on our list is the fact that other rigs like our current one, have little to no insulation. Thus experiencing all the issues associated with having little to no protection from cold/hot etc. We are hoping the construction and "R" rating in our new rig will be more than what we have experienced so far.
We're looking for some feedback from the membership on these issues as well as on the construction quality and problems you may have had with your rigs, specifically those in the Durango Gold family.
Thank you in advance. We're looking forward to your responses and our involvement in this forum.

Welcome to the forum and the KZ family, and congratulations on the new rig! Ours is a Durango but not the Gold as you have ordered. So far ours has been very comfortable, but we only got it in September so haven't experienced extreme heat in it yet. We have, however, spent a few cold nights in it and it has thus far been much more comfortable than our previous fifth wheels. As you already well know, all RVs will have some issues arise, but so far we have been much more impressed with the overall build quality of this unit than we have our previous ones. I'm retiring next month and after that we will start spending a lot more time in ours. At that point I hope we continue to be happy with it. So far we have no regrets. Again, congratulations. Hope you get a lot of helpful feedback as there are some really good people on here with lots of good experience to share. Safe travels!

medic Welcome to the forum and the KZ family There are a number of full timers on here that I'm sure will answer your question on insulation, we do not full time but have been
in cold weather down to 15 degrees an night an have been pretty darn warm thought out the night .... I will say we used two
an a half bottles of propane for 7 days with heating an cooking in our G384RLT so I am pretty darn happy about such ...
Other times we have been out for five an six days an not used up much propane in damp an rainy weather either ...
You might look over the PDI list even thought you are experienced RV'ers it might refresh you memory on what to
Safe Travels

Four years and not a single build issue other than crummy TV/cable/Sat wiring. Lots of loose ends seems to be a common problem. We are about 3/4 time and have been in temps down to single digit, mid 20's common. Once warmed, walls, furniture etc it's easy to keep that way. The fireplace and a small space heater in the bedroom, the small off nights. I set the heater at 60-65 nights to help the fireplace, warms quick in the AM. Currently 15 days out and used 1 7.5 gallon tank with mid 20's nights.
