I agree with nvguy, check to make sure that you have continuity in the cable from end to end, pull on each
connector an make sure the connector is tight an connected to the cable center conductor ....
Loose or bad cable connectors have been the major problem on many trailers not only here with Kz trailers
but across the board in many MFG ... One has to remember that they are putting these cables an connectors
together as they go an in most case's do not check their work only figuring it look good so it must work
an move onto the next one, time is money in most case's ... It would be noce however if QC would be checking
behind some of the wring configurations like antenna an TV wiring....
I know that Kz has QC people an there is a large board in the one of the bays explaining what needs to be checked
an I have seen markings on some of the trailers from QC wanting things fixed but I'm not sure if they ever check
TV connections or for that matter turn on the TV's an make sure they all work other than they turn on....
The other end of this is your dealer, his/her RV techs should be checking out everything in a trailer when it is dropped
off, their QC/PDI ...
As well you as an owner should be turning, twisting, pulling shoving everything in your trailer during your PDI
an not signing anything before such is fixed ....
I can tell you from example when we bought our G384RLT, our 5th wheel was at an RV show, the TV's one in the
main room an the one in the bedroom was playing witha wonderful picture on them ... Two weeks after the RV
Show we did our walk thought, thinking in the back of my mind I didn't need to check the TV's because they were
on an playing at the RV show ... What I had not thought about was that both TV's were hooked to CD players an
was showing the same stuff over an over no wonder the picture was so good .... Well after 4 an half hours we
signed on the dodted line thinking we did a pretty good PDI, WRONG!!!!
We setup at a camp grounds with our new home on wheel with the camping group we belong to an decided to
watch a little TV anfter I had hooked up everything ... Cable TV picture was fuzzy, regular TV was not at all, now
I'm thinking what in the world happened, the trailer is now only 3 months old ... So we returned home an I
got on the Kz form here, I found out the I had to have the amplifier on to use the TV an off to use the cable.
again tnxs to friend here on the form ... So I went out an test drove the TV in the Driveway, yep, amp on TV
still didn't work, checked wiring an jumpers behind bedroom TV, yep all connected, pull on connectors, all tight
an working Ugh !!!
I had to wait to see if cable TV would work which it did on our next camp out a few weeks later ... So called
dealer in between times an they said sure we can get you in around September, this was June BTW ....
I said we were going to Kz rally an I would have them look at it there, they stated ok no problem good luck ...
So at the Kz rally we had the TV problem on our list, RV tech looked at it said possibly the Amp was bad, so they
just in case replaced the Amp, TV still didn't work on local channels but worked on cable ... So on to the antenna,
RV tech sais he needed to take antenna off trailer an check it or hook new antenna on an see if it would get local
TV channels .... Well new antenna got all the local channels right off the bat, bad antenna, RV tech said that was
the 1st one he had seen in years an he had been a RV to close to 20 years... The put new antenna on the TV
has worked ever since, Edd505 also had a bad antenna an had his replace the following year at the Kz rally ...
So ending a long story here was two trailers with bad antenna's, would it helped if at the factory or even at the
dealer helped, you bet, would it took 10 minutes to check that TV's worked ok, yes, I believe both believed because
everything was new it worked, as we found out they were wrong ...
Saying all of the above I have been to the factory repair shop an I have seen new trailers there off the line being
repaired, what was being repaired I don't know, but they were there for something... Two years ago I did see one
trailer outside the 5th wheel line that was complete marked repair shop an one someone was replacing carpet
in right outside the line, for what reason I do not know, so there is some QC going on, at what level I'm not
sure ...
Oh ya I forgot to add that we thought there was CD players because at the show they were on, nope, no
CD players in out trailer, they had them befor an had them after but for a period of time the G384RLT's
did not come with a CD player installed, so we bought are own ...
Agn sorry to so long
Safe Travels
