Hi we just picked up a brand new 2020 Durango gold 382MBQ this weekend. When bringing the dining/living room slide in, the dealer told us that sometimes it can tip toward the ceiling and if it does, we should pull down on the top manually and it will level it out. When pulling it in this morning after our 1st night of camping, it indeed tipped and was very skewed...enough that several campers around us came running over to see if we needed help. We were able to back the slide back out, pull down hard on it and then pull it back in successfully. Does this sound normal to anyone or has anyone had this problem before?

Our slide an most slide will pickup from the bottom an then slide into your trailer, yes there will be a little movement slightly up an down at sometimes but move freely into your trailer
Your slide should not need to be adjusted by you normally, the dealer is full of C%$p an should be ashamed of telling you such Slides should move in an out freely, to me your slide has a major problem an needs to be adjusted by someone who knows how to do such, it sure doesn't sound like your dealer

Like chuck said, the slides out of adjustment, have them do the adjustment and makes sure nothings broken. It should not tip enough people come over thinking there is a problem. If they do there is a problem as they are used to seeing slides travel in & out.

ashover Make darn sure that when you pick up the trailer after repair you test the slid going in an out, not one or two times but six or seven times or more, don't let them tell you it's fixed an not show you it fixed !!!! If they say they don't have time, tell to make time !!!!
As well don't let them tell you that it will take two or three months for repair, if they say such then say maybe you should ship it back to Kz at you the dealers expense ...
Good Luck, please let us know how it turns out

Thank you!! I appreciate the advice! Our only problem is that we took a 30 hour roadtrip down to Mississippi from Iowa to pick it up. Our local dealer told us ahead of time that they would do warranty work for us, so unfortunately it's hard to hold the selling dealer responsible when we really don't want to do that trip again any time soon. Got ourselves in a bit of an ordeal trying to save money on the initial purchase.

Your in a Gold series, call KZ and explain whats happening KZ can and does authorize outside repairs. Have purchase date & VIN number when you make the call, 866-472-5460. They will tell you how to arrange it, you may have to pay & get reimbursed if the repair shop will not bill KZ. Take pictures of the tipped slide, video if you can, and keep receipts. If it's just a simple adjustment with nothing broken it won't take long.

Update: It's now 2/12/21 and our Durango gold is still at the shop. Unfortunately our local repair place is extremely backed up because of the duracho wrecking a lot of units. Anyway, they had to completely redo the slide, then rip up the floor because it had some rot due to the slide issues, and now they found rot on the wall and ordered a whole new wall. Luckily our local repair place and the KZ company are taking care of everything and have been good yo deal with. Still irritated the original dealer sold it to us like that in the first place.

That's just unacceptable. I can only assume that it was too far disassembled to ship it back to the factory which, IMO, is where it =should= be. I think I might let KZ know that, if there's =any= issue with this rig in =any= way associated with the slide or the wall, that I'd be expecting a factory buy-back. Lyle
