Greetings from Memphis,
My wife and I are currently in the market for a toy hauler and are considering a 2007 Sportsmen Sportster model M24. We really like the RV, but are having a tough time determining a fair price for it. I know that some may say fair is what I am willing to pay and the seller is willing to accept, but would appreciate some advice regarding these units. From the research I have done (NADA), they range in value from $7500 - $11,500 depending on the options and quality. This one has a full kitchen, full bath (with tub), Queen electric bed, heat/ac, radio, tv, dvd/cd, awning, two flip up sofa/beds (sleeps 4 total). Everything works and the interior is in really decent shape. There is no generator. The exterior are really where my concerns are. It has some minor damage where someone scraped it along the bottom with their car while at the storage unit. There are also scratches along one side where they got a little too close to the razor wire fence at the storage unit. It is also really dirty with some mold/tree sap on it. He is throwing in everything needed for the hitch (sway bars, etc.) and a portable black water transport cart. We have tentatively agreed on a price of $10,500 but my bank is only willing to give me $8,000 for the loan. I am now questioning whether the out of pocket extra $2500 is worth it.
Any and all suggestions/feedback is welcome and appreciated.
Thank you!
Ken

Explain that your bank will only go that much and your not willing to pay over mkt price. Always another unit out there.

With financing options and loan terms you may want ot look at a dealer for a new or slightly used unit. Sounds a bit high to me for the year and exterior condition.

Your bank is probably going to finance at 80%, so the bank has valued it at $9600.
