I purchased a blu-ray player and I'm mounting it in the forward cabinet. I will need to run the power cable and HDMI cable from inside the cabinet through about 2 feet of ceiling to get to the television and outlet. Is there a clean way to do this? Suggestions appreciated.

Remove nearby lamps, vents, speakers or any other access fixtures and you should get a good idea on how to proceed. The wires will grab less insulation if you build a taper on the end with tape. Pull masonry twine along with the cable for future expansion. Expect some sawdust and construction debris to fall out of the ceiling and it is a good idea to clean any ceiling speakers to stop noise from such debris.
