How do you get bleach in the fresh water tank and how do you drain it after it is sanitized. Might be dumb question, but manual tells me nothing. Thanks from a new camper

Pour a capfull of bleach down the fill for the fresh water tank. Then fill tank with fresh water. Let set over night. Turn on the pump and run water through lines to sanitize. Open drain line on the bottom of freshwater tank and drain. Remember to close after drained.

I mixed 1.5 cups of bleach in a bucket of water then used the siphon hose attached to the pump to suck it in. I then filled the tank with fresh water. Then I turned on the pump until a chlorine smell was apparent at each faucet (don't forget city water fill port - remove screen with screwdriver then press down on the check valve). I then left like this for about 2 hours. After the two hour wait I drained the tank onto my driveway with the drain valve on the bottom of the tank. I had to refill and flush the system with fresh water twice after that to get the chlorine smell away. Done! I hope that helped...

That is the way I was told to do it also and so far 6 years of success. The only thing I do a little different is I'll drain the tank but not flush it out because I have well so the water is not chlorinated and a little chlorine in the water helps keep the bacteria away and the water fresh. It also helps if you drain your tank and water heater if you are not going to use the RV for a period of time. Just be sure you have the water heater filled with water before you turn it on.
