I was setting up our TT and noticed on the tongue/frame of the 180QB it says gross weight 8000 pounds and maximum tongue weight 1200 pounds (made in China). The GVW of the trailer though is rated at 3500 pounds. I am thinking that the axle, springs and tires (maybe brakes) are what is the limiting factors here as opposed to the frame. Has anyone upgraded these parts to increase the GVR of their trailer to give more carrying capacity?

Only that part will handle what you read. Your trailer most likely has tires, axles and springs that are rated for 3500lbs. Yes, you could upgrade those parts if the frame can handle the higher load.

Yes, they are the only numbers on the the frame. The coupler is welded to the rest of the frame, so I am assuming it is all one, especially since I can't find any other numbers.
