What type of lubricant do people recommend for keeping stabilizer jacks from rusting out quickly and to help them continue to working efficiently? Much like a bike chain lube, I would assume the lubricant needs to keep road grit from sticking to it.

A dry lube may be best, but there is no perfect answer. Behind the drive nut you will see where there is friction to keep the screw from rotating. Lubricant there can actually allow the jack to loosen. Here is a product to hold the screw in place: link

Motorcycle chain lube. Goes on as a liquid, penetrates and then gels.
