On a couple of short trips we noticed water on floor each time we stopped. The culprit was the refrigerator. The drain pan in the frig was stopped up. Being an old appliance repairman before AC days, it was easy to figure out. The odd thing was, when I took the outside cover off to access the drain, there was a plug in the end of the drain line. The plug had a very small orifice to allow water to enter a drain pan. Of course if was completely stopped up. I was just wondering what the purpose of the plug is?

I have no idea what that's for. If you have the Norcold 2118 fridge they have a mod they will send you. Mine was doing that and the fins didn't always drain into the tray under them. They sent a plastic piece to help direct the condensation into that tray. Give them a call may need the serial # I don't recall; mine was done shortly after I got it.

The purpose of the plug is to allow the drain to drip and hold a seal, otherwise the hose would empty and allow all the cool refs air to escape to the outside.
