Our 2020 Connect with an outside kitchen has the Capital Grille which looks to be a great feature. The owner's manual says not to place foil or any cooking utensil on it or it could create an unsafe condition. As an old Boy Scout, we frequently make "foil dinners" on our campouts which saves a lot of cleanup. Would foil dinner cooking be a no no? How would you cook vegetables like potatoes, corn, green beans, etc. on the grill without some kind of support like foil or a grilling pan?
My other concern is the lack of a windscreen when grilling in windy conditions which are the norm at our campsite. I saw on the Keystone Cougar site an outside kitchen grill that looks exactly like ours, but it has a windscreen. Doing some online research I could not find any windscreen accessory for our grill. In fact I could not even find any source for spare parts for this model. Knowing that eventually I would have to replace things like the burner or diffusers it is concerning that we could not replace worn out or damaged components.
The Grill is Model D2728 I believe from the manual.

corny I sort of confused as why you couldn't place a cooking utensil which I would be a pan or pot on s grill which is made for cooking ... Possible their thinking is if you placing foil on the grill it may burn though an then have a fire thus creating an unsafe condition I have seen our camping buddies cook pots an skillets on their outside grill many times, I have not seen them only use tin foil on the grill, but use such in their camp fire to cook corn an meals like you stated ... I still remember those great meals that we wrapped in tin foil an threw into our camp fires as a boy scout One of our camping buddies made a wind screen for their outside grill from an old Coleman stove they found in a thrift store ...

I have an old Coleman stove... will have to check it out. Great idea.
"The owners manual states: "Do not cover the cooking surface with a dust cover, a lid, foil, cooking utensil, or anything else. The Grill was designed to cook your food without covering it."
There is a removable drip pan under the burner. If you are grilling hamburgers directly on the grill there is bound to be flare ups.

Our 2020 Durango 291 BHT came with the same model grill. Used it once, immediately disliked liked it and replaced it with a Suburban 3-burner drop-in cook top. Easy modification and the cook top suits our needs. We didn’t feel comfortable grilling that close to the counter top and it didn’t get hot enough to cook food that wasn’t in direct contact with the grill.

Yeah I dont know why they changed that - on my outdoor kitchen from 2 years ago I have the 2 burner where that stupid bbq is and have the swing arm BBQ on from the bumper and that bbq rocks and hooks right into the propane love our outdoor kitchen setup we never cook or do dishes inside anymore.
