Help! We have the outdoor shower that uses a quick connect connection. What is the secret to getting the hose attached? No matter how hard we try to push the center in the hose won’t attach. Shouldn’t be this difficult.
Thanks

You might need to pull back on the "release-ring" letting the hose attach. Be sure the "release-ring" snaps back into the locking position once the hose is attached. Hope this works.

That ring will push away from you. Do you have the water pressure off, might help? Mine stays connected and coiled in the control panel compartment, I use it to release water pressure when breaking down.

I turned off the water and opened a faucet. Can not push the ring in to insert hose. Was hoping there was something else to it. Thanks anyway.

I am assuming yours looks similar to the one pictured below. If you don't use these quick connect fittings on a regular basis the collar on the female connector can become frozen, and won't move without exerting a lot of force. I just went out and checked mine from sitting over the winter and it is frozen again. You may need to use more force than you think is necessary to break it free. I would try applying some kind of spray lubricant, like WD40 and let is sit, then try to get it to break free. I would push on the collar itself without trying to insert the hose first. Once the collar is freed then you should be able to just push the hose in to secure it. One thing to note. The collar does not sit flush with the end of the fitting (see pic) when the hose is attached and locked. So even though it may look like it is pushed back and should accept the hose fitting it's not, that would be the normal position. It doesn't move much but it should move freely when working properly. Hope this helps. Click on the pic to see a close up of the fitting.

I agree with terreb, they are sometime harder to push in than you think. spray some WD40 or even better if you can find some AERO KROIL oil (better than WB40)on the fitting, let it soak for a few minutes an try to see if it push's in an you can attach hose Stay Safe Chuck

I don't know why I didn't see this the first time, but my fitting still has a tag hanging on the connector giving you instructions on how to free it So if you can't get it free you can try what KZ suggests. Click on the pic to open it in another window so you can read it.

Lyle It's cheaper to pay for a tag to hang from the connector to tell you how to unfreeze it. Hahaha!
