Thinking seriously about having disc brakes installed on my 2019 DG 356rlt as we will be keeping this rig for some time, and plan do start extensive traveling in another year or so. Might be able to do a self install, but I think I'll just the price to make it sure it's done right the 1st time.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a shop in Western Washington to do this? I'm in the Everett, Wa area but could travel a bit to find the right shop. Thanks, Rick

Call these people and ask if they have an installer in the area, I went to a seminar they did and they convinced me. They said they had installers nation wide, I will be doing their brakes sometime this year on my DG. I use my 5W way more than average, about 3/4 time, and it's close to time to do the brakes. They will do mine when the time comes: performancetrailerbraking.com/PS: I have no affiliation with them.

Rick, try calling Tacoma RV in Fife. I have used them for the past five years and they have a wonderful shop and great service. I do not know if they install disc but I do know they are trustworthy. They might be able to help you with the slide toppers also.

Tacoma RV is where I purchased my DG, and had my one slide topper installed. They said that they couldn't install on the main slides for a reason that I mentioned in another thread. I will check out both of the suggestions above for the brakes though. Thanks.

I can’t add to the recommendations already made, but I can tell you that disc brakes are a great addition. We did it in 2017 and it is a great help in the mountains and in emergencies ... which I hope you never need.

I did contact performancetrailerbraking.com/ who let me know that they don't have any installers close to me, but they will be attending ralleys later this year in Oregon and Washington and if I attend I could get the installed there. I gave them my Dexter 7k axle info and they are checking on parts and pricing. Just waiting to hear back. Thanks again for the suggestion to contact them. Rick

Their quote was $21xx.xx for parts and another 1000 for installation. If the parts were shipped to a dealer located in Washington state, add another $300.00 for sales tax. They are attending a rally in the Bend Oregon area this summer and that is a tax free option I'm looking at since we occasionally stay and The Bend/Sun River thousand trails park.

I contacted them and got the same price, They also said they can upgrade my axles from 7K to 8K for $64, that's a no brainer. They are the same except the stud size 9/16 vs 1/2" and larger bearings.

I got the same quote to upgrade from 7k to 8k, but that's not an axle upgrade I don't believe. It's just that we would get the 8k disc brake kit with larger lugs/nuts I think. Maybe I'm confused. Wouldn't be the 1st time.

Wouldn't be the 1st time. I believe your right, "the disk kit" will have the 9/16 studs and it includes a larger bearing and you will have to buy new lug nuts for the larger studs. For me the extra $64 to convert the assembly to 8K is reasonable. Can't argue with stronger anything.
