Relentless camper failures...
This is our second new KZ and what a joke.
TV broke when receiving it, fixed
Awning light broke, fixed
hinge on cabinet broke
Fridge on first trip fell over, full, due to seals missing on fridge to keep freezer drawer closed. W after several phone calls and #SN numbers, three weeks later a guy shows up and says, your seal is missing, it will be about two months to fix
Air conditioner broke, kz dealer in Georgia refused to work on it, went to Texas, dealer to busy this month to work on it, had to pay ourselves to fix it, took a year to get reimbursed.
Took over a year to get all damage done by fridge falling over, now ice maker hose must be leaking in wall.
Microwave broke, new one sent to us, old one was not mounted on wall hinge, just screwed through the back of micro. New micro came and was damaged on six of the eight sides( shipping problem).
Sent another microwave, same SN but doesn’t fit in space of the old one.
NOW for the real problem. Right side slide floor is rotten. After further investigation, factory did not seal it properly like the slide on other side. It gets wet when slide is folded in, going down road in rainstorm, wheels throw water underneath slide and soaks the floor from bottom up. Contacted KZ Corp, tells me here are some KZ dealers in your area. TWO KZ dealers refuse to work on this warranty work. KZ Corp refuses to contact us back once again.
Third KZ dealer refusing to work on warranty work and as far as I am concerned I have bent over backwards and staying calm long enough in owning a Durango Gold. Sitting here in New Mexico, long way from home, hoping slide will close considering floor has started to buckle. Cutting our trip to San Diego, Washington State, South Dakota and thinking about heading straight to Indiana and dropping camper on their doorstep.
Obvious this camper was never inspected, their promise of warranty work at dealers and taking care of customer is a joke. Dealer capable to fix it(if you personally pay them) but won’t fix it knowing they have to get paid from KZ Corp, nothing to do but empty it out and drop it off. Heading to Alliance or Vanliegh dealer and hand this over to the lawyers.
Learned a valuable lesson, Danny and Melissa

KZ did not build the fridge they installed it, likely Norcold, call them it's under their warranty.
Leaking ice marker line, who installed the fridge?
Water leak in slides keep after it. Who's your dealer? Work through them, take pictures, it will likely mean a trip back to the factory. As you have found out RV's are not like vehicles, you take you Ford to a Ford dealer, Chev to Chev etc. In the RV industry it's take it to your selling dealer. I don't believe that's right but it's the way it is. I live in NM, bought in AZ form a WA dealer, try that combo. I have had issues and most fixed at a local RV repair either under appliance warranty or authorized by KZ. Go to the Alliance & Vanliegh forums, I recently talked to a Vanliegh owner who also swore never again. They all have problems, I suspect even Spacecraft, Luxe, DRV RV's have issues.

Morning. Edd, I don't think this is a Norcold problem. OP says it fell over. To me that's a KZ install problem. In any event, why KZ is giving him so many problems is beyond me. TBH, my experience with warranty isn't as great as others have had. To me, I think his rig should have been replaced. There must be some reason dealers - KZ dealers, I assume, won't work on it. But, if it's not KZ dealers, then its a crap shoot to get them to do it. My microwave was just screwed in and it fell. Maybe that's the way they do it. But, in KZ's defense, my 18 380 is the best RV I've owned in 20 years.

Cornfed, look up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Sure hope you get some satisfaction. I'd post all the issues you've had, with pictures, on every RV forum you can.

I under stand it fell over but I was trying to say the appliances etc are cover by the manufacture. I know of one other that I think tipped out but didn't fall. That party bout a strap across the front and I believe KZ repaired it. I know he's n the forum and may answer on this.

I contacted people as high up the ladder as I can go at the corporate level, they just passing it to the next person and ended talking to a person where I started in the first place. All the pics I send in, always disappear, over and over again. I appreciate you all and what you have tried and discuss with. Since writing this we have even more issues and really have soured us completely on the lackadaisical response and service. I have owned semi trucks, farm equipment, and construction equipment and I am just flabbergasted on how the RV people have treated customer after customer that I read about. No other industry treats people this way. We love volunteering at museums, give tours, working with special needs but the frustration of the RV industry is outweighing the good we have done.
Sure would like to see their faces on a Monday morning when we walk away from this camper parked on their doorstep. We are finishing up our duties we committed to, and be heading Shipshewana. An expensive lessons learned and just be out the money we purchased and a truly valuable lesson.
Will let you know and have a nice pic for you, then they can delete me from here.

What a horrible time you have had! We have a 2019 kz 231rk and right away we noticed alot of little things that my husband fixed since the dealer is a long ways away and we wanted to use the unit. First thing was a running light, the dealer sent us a new one. Shower stall door was rattling bad enough to put a chip in it, trim wasn't installed we fixed that. Stove vent fan quit working. Just multiple small things that have given us the feeling there isn't quality control and no care was put into the assembly. Sad. Good Luck to you!

Write up a detailed report about all the problems you've had, service (or lack of it) that's been done and by whom, dates and times of who you've talked to and about what, copies of emails, then print out the pics and send them certified mail or FedEx, with a signature required. That way you have proof they have them and who signed for them. Address the package to either Aram Koltookian, the President or Sean Andrews, the VP of After-Sales Service, which includes warranty issues. As I said before, spread the issues to different RV fora along with the details above and pictures. Squeaky wheel, y'know... Lyle

Sorry to hear of all your problems, but as others have stated I don't care what trailer you buy there will be problems, some small an others like yourself large ... With hundreds of trailers going out the door every year with different MFG I believe that Kz works hard to make a good product an stand behind their work but with saying such everything, things do go wrong an people make mistakes ... For some reason the residential refrigerators in the Durango Golds have in the past had problems staying in place, I know of two owners who have has problems an Kz fixed such at the factory an one other fixed
at the kz rally ...
As you stated your TV was fixed along with some other things possibly found during your PDI, an other Kz dealers not fixing problems or putting you at the back of the line seems to be the norm outside your selling dealer with allot of owners of other brands as well as Kz ... What I an a few other have found out an used is that the MFG of appliances is on the hook for the 1st year an can if talking directly with them get fixed way faster than going to a MFG dealer such as Kz ... Example, I had a furnace go out a month after I bought our trailer, called dealer, they stated it would be two months before they could look at it... Called MFG of furnace an they steered me to a dealer not 10 miles from who sold a totally different MFG line of RV but was a service center for that MFG, appointment made an furnace was fixed in a week from the time I dropped it off till I picked it up ... As a few of us have found out the Kz Customer service will steer you to Kz dealers who will repair your trailer under warranty if you are over 150miles away from selling dealer, this is stated in your owners manual ... I am really having a hard time believing that you were told it would be two months or longer to have a repair done on a seal, we had a back seal on the main slide replace in a day an they had all types of slide seals in stock ... As far as the cabinet hinge braking that could happen to any hinge, I've replace such in our home, an yes we had one replaced during our PDI because it was loose, so instead of tightening it we ask that it be replaced ... Again I am sorry that you are having these problems but parking your rig at the Kz factry door an leaving it will more than likely bring you more problems such as tow bills, storage bills etc do to the fact you did such without their knowledge ... (I'm sure you are kidding but word to the wise it will only bring more pain then service) ... If your intending on going to the Kz Factory make an appointment an show up with a smile on your face an talk with the service people in a manor not demeaning to them, or flat out demanding an you will reap the rewards far more that doing the other ... As far as posting about how bad Kz is on other sites you will join a group of other owners of other trailer MFG doing the same thing, it gets you as far as I am concerned no where ... Asking for help or discussing problems get way more attention than the other, but just my two cents ... Good Luck an I hope you get your problems solved Safe Travels Chuck

Sorry about the issues. I didn't see the year and model of the unit with problems. That would be nice to know.
I have had a few issue's with mine as well. I picked up ours in AZ and when I got back to Ca. and opened the trailer all the top trim work on the slide outs had fell off on the trip home. And 4 of the 6 jacks had leaks all over. I sent pictures to my dealer and he said bring it back and they can do the repairs. Well that wasn't happening, I saw all their Tech guys the day I picked it up. Not a smart looking bunch. All the items so far I have fixed myself. I've learned my lesson trying to get a dealer to do anything on a RV after you drive it off, it's not worth the heartburn, stress and headache. I've had my RV's parked at dealers for weeks on end while they do jack sh!t on it, or do complete junk work. I'm old enough now to get the deal. The deal is, it better be "Major" before you try to get stuff fixed by a dealer, and for damn sure at a dealer that didn't sell it. Item's that only cost me a few bucks and / or a few hours of my own time. I'm fixing it, cuz I know it will be done right.
Sorry about your troubles.

There is no better way to know your RV than to do the little things you are capable of fixing. It's 3 years down the road and you have an issue traveling. That is not the time to be learning, it's the time you know where to start to repair the issue. Option two head to a dealer like CW and pay 135.00 and hr for them to trouble shoot and repair. I carry tools & meters to trouble shoot most any issue and parts are easy to find at Lowes, Home Depot or area RV dealers.

Their are good an bad dealers, we all have seen the postings here about such, I only wish that owners would do some research on dealers before they buy any brand ... The other thing is to join a form regarding the brand you are going to buy, yes owners of the brand just like here in most but not all case's will tell you how great the MFG is, but if you look though the BS filter most time's you will see what good an bad about the brand ...
As well stating the above every brand has problems even the $120K or more brands do have problems, as well the $150K brand more or less have the same appliance's that the $60 or $70K brands have installed in them ...
We have owned slide-ins, Class C's an one other brand of 5th wheel besides Kz, we have had problems in all of them including our Kz, but no one has stepped up to the plate more than Kz with the problems we have had ... I can tell you we were an still are not happy with our selling dealer, but they have improved over the last 3 years in some ways but still lack in other ways, this is not the fault of Kz in any way ...
Some owner complain about Kz customer service (CS) but a number of us here on the form know different an CS has in our case always been friend, returned phone calls an has bent over backwards to help us when needed ...
When visiting the Kz factory service deportment they have fixed things that we have broken an should have been rejected because we broke such, they have upgraded things that were in newer models even thought they didn't need to, these were not large items but small tweaks to make our unit just a little better ...
Have we made major adjustments to our trailer, yes, not because we needed to in most case's but because we wanted to make our unit just a little better than average ... We still believe we have a above average trailer after many thousands of miles in three years an would if we saw fit would buy another Kz product in a minute because we believe in the build quality an customer support ...
Safe Travels an be safe
