Hi! New to this forum, but certainly not new to rvs. I've been on the hunt for a new RV for over a year now, and have arrived at the 382mbq model after a TON of searching. Started looking for a toy hauler - that idea got shot down, then several other mfgs before I settled on this one. Just walked through one of these this past weekend, and maybe now I've found what I want / need. I'm going to be watching reports on this model, I'd love to know how everyone else fares with theirs. We are going to buy our new tow vehicle first, then we're going to spring for the new fiver next Spring. Make sure that whatever truck you get has the payload to carry the FW. It's not about towing, it's about carrying... Lyle Boy you're sure correct Lyle, we got 'bit' with the toy hauler we purchased. It is a little on the heavy side for our current truck, for sure. We won't be making that mistake again. We're ordering a Ford Dually this week as soon as we can get to the dealer. The payload is plenty for the hitch weight of this trailer. Hitch weight is "estimated" at 2150, I'd bet it's a little more than that. The dually 4x4 crew cab with diesel has cargo capacity of 3900-4900 lbs depending on gearing and added options. Trailer max weight is around 16k, tow capacity for the truck is 31k to 34k depending upon gearing and options. We've done our homework. But telling folks to do their homework cannot be stressed enough for sure, so I appreciate your reminding me!

If your trailers GVWR (max weight) is 16k ... your pin weight is probably closer to 3200-3400lbs rather than the “estimated” 2150. Dually is a good call😉

For those with the 382 mbq any issues with the rear deck leaking water into the coach or issues with the door not closing properly when the unit is on any angle other than perfectly level? Also those of you have a dish washer does your wife like that or is it a waste of space? crg - I have the 382MBQ. Never had an issue with the rear deck leaking. Many other issues that I had to fix on my own nickle, but not the deck. We also have the dishwasher and like it. It is a shame to give up a few drawers, but it makes for short work cleaning silverware, the occasional real plate, coffee mugs and maybe a beer glass or 2!

Also those of you have a dish washer does your wife like that or is it a waste of space? Well guys, I can tell you, I'm the wife and I don't want the dishwasher. I think I'd rather have the storage space. As a matter of fact, if we buy one with a dishwasher, it's coming out - if I order one it will be without. BUT, we dry camp / boondock so I won't use one because of the water usage. Same for washer and dryer - not putting them in. Right at this moment, we do not plan to full-time, just extended camping trips. I'll be hitting the occasional laundromat when needed, and I'll be washing my dishes by hand and conserving water. I am curious about the deck though. We have a bumper-pull toy hauler that has a party deck on it, and I'm assuming the material to cover it is probably the same. We've never had any issues with it in the 7 years we've owned it. BUT I have read where others have had leaking and failure issues with their ramps, so there's always a possibility. The first thing we will do is inspect it and make sure it is well sealed. There are threads on several forums (Keystone Fuzion comes to mind) about what to do, how to inspect it and how to seal it. I'm not worried about it, just AWARE. Knowledge is power!

now over to 18K... I'm thinking no less than a dually long bed in a Ford a F350 DWD or F450 an Diesel or something similar
in a Dodge or Chevy to get within GVWR overall stability in wind, a SWD an gas engine is out of the question....
But that's my 2 cents an I'm sure some will disagree
PS: we love our dishwasher an use it all the time

Truck stops itself, trailer stops itself, so stopping power of the TV is, IMO, a non-issue. If the brakes fail, you're SOL, whether you're towing 5,000 lbs or 60,000 lbs. Lyle

We just placed our order for a 2020 F350 DRW 4X4. It will handle this trailer just fine.
