Did something stupid, I had a friend borrow my spree escape. When I set it up for him the batteries were dead. I didn’t have time to charge them so I went to autozone and bought new ones. I have two 6v deep cycle setup in series for 12v out. I told the guy at autozone I needed the same thing, I was in a hurry and didn’t pay any attention and he sold me two 12v. Sure enough I hooked them up in series and I sent 24v to my camper. I finally realized what happened when this batteries died quickly. I went and returned them and got the others back. Upon further review the deep cycles were low on water. I added water and put on the charger for two days. They never reached 100% charged got to about 75%. I put them back in the camper and everything seems to work fine.
Went camping this weekend and the fridge started showing the c fault code, but only when another piece of equipment went on, pump etc. I would turn the fridge off then on and it would go away.
I am hoping this is just further evidence that the batteries are bad and i didn’t do more physical damage to the concert or when I hooked up 24 v
Appreciate any help

Without refer model info this is very generic. Disconnect the coach from shore power (110V), then get yourself a meter and check the voltage at the back of the refrigerator. The refer wants 10.5V - 15.4V. You want to have several interior lights on or some other 12V electrical loads when you check the voltage, as it sounds like your batteries are goners. In fact, you could probably just check the voltage at the batteries and save yourself the hassle of getting the access door open for the fridge. If your batteries were low enough on water so that their state of charge was affected, they are probably due for replacement.
Don't feel too bad, all of us have lent something to a friend and gotten it back in less that great condition. Based on how this friend returned your coach, You might want to check the level of your propane tanks..jus sayn..

He hooked the battery's in series and put 24 volts in the 12V system. The 6 volt batteries are shot but the Escape was over voltage. A 'C' means low dc voltage. "Low" is defined by Norcold as under 10.5v and converter/charger maybe damaged.
