So if you want to eventually go full time off grid or boondock for longer periods in potentially warmer climates we REALLY need mini split ac's. At least give us that option. These units use low enough power our solar power panels will 100% power them without any problem. So now we can run AC's, tv, micro, fridge, etc all at same time..... PLEASE be the first in the industry to install these with an advanced solar option. That with everything else you all offer would be so AWESOME... not talking small units.... would love it on the full time units such as G386FLF

In the dry heat down in the SW couldn't you run a swamp cooler? The Coleman 15K draw ruffly 13 amps so as long as the solar was able to keep up. A small portable generator will also top off batteries.

They're re-doing a '64 GMC bus into an RV that is all-electric, with 3k+ watts of solar and using a Nissan Leaf battery to power everything, including a mini-split A/C and a window A/C. Lyle

All 4 of their kids have helped in building this thing, including measuring, cutting, screwing, gluing, polishing and fetching. They're only 3 years behind schedule for their full-time adventures, but they're getting there. Lyle

Too funny I subscribed to their channel about a month ago and his ingenious solution for installing the exterior component of the mini split in one of the cargo holds was what really got me thinking this could work. All other youtubers simply tied to the back of their rigs in a way that looked super tacky.... .they are really doing great work on that bus.....
Trying to get KZ to do the same kind of set up in new models.... the wattage usage on a mini split really solves for the issue of if want to live off grid only way to run AC's is via generator, but with mini split solar can handle.... will keep watching him... tell him loved the mini split, i know they also put in a window unit but would be interested in hearing outside of cost was there another reason? thanks again

The window unit is in the kids' bedroom area and they just felt that the, IIRC, 12.5k split wouldn't be enough, though they're getting a =lot= of shade from the solar panels when they're extended. They've gotten to the point where they don't even need to plug in at their house when they're working on it. Extend all 8 panels and run completely off the battery, including both the A/Cs. Lyle
