Well, we going to Waco tomorrow to finalize a deal on a 2019 Durango Gold 366 FBT. After months of looking, we came back to my wife's first choice. My question is extended warranties? Are they worth it, and is there any one that is better then all the others? Like everything in the RV industry, this topic can take you down a long and dark rabbit hole. I'm hoping one of you has been down there before, and can lead me thru safely! Kirt

With that warranty you will have a 100% chance of spending a large sum of money. Without it you still have the factory warranty and component warranties for two years. You will find that these add-on expenses are nothing more than big profit items for dealers. An example is fabric protector that is nothing more than a $5 can of Scotchgard for hundreds of dollars.

Extended warranties are not worth the money. They usually want you to go back to the selling dealer, if not then you have to convince the dealer/ shop doing the repair to accept the warranty terms (labor, parts prices, payment time / terms) or you pay and wait for reimbursement. They also do a repair in the cheapest way possible. They spend more time declining coverage than approving it. Save your money.

Put the warranty $$ in a just in case account. Most large parts are $500-1000 and if you handy you can install the stuff yourself, if not you'll pay an RV tech out of the same account.
