I just found the tire recall label replacement for my '18 DG 380.
It says the correct tire should be ST235/85R16.
My coach came with ST235/80R16.
Questions: - Which Tire is Correct? 80 or 85
- If 85, to agree with the replacement label, should the tires be replaced?
- If 85 is correct, should the wheels be replaced. If 80, should I expect the wheel to be for the 85, or for the 80?
- I read the NHTSA recall and it doesn't say anything about replacing wheels or tires.
Anyone have information on this?
Thanks, Al

5mm = about 3/16 Inch, divided by 2 as half the 5mm will be on top & half on the bottom, to me not enough to worry about.

Thanks Edd505. I was just wondering about the reason for the label. There is no load limit designation on the tire. Just a weight of 3082 at 80, whereas the 85 is 3600 at 110.
The axles are 7k. Math just doesn't add up, unless I'm doing it the wrong way.

110psi will be load range G tire 80PSI will be load range E. ST235/85R16/ST235/80R16 can be had in both load ranges, I would check the label for load range on the tire. Someone else maybe able to tell you if you can go to the G without changing rims, I don't think KZ went to the G OEM until 2019, possibly some late 18's.

The way I understood the recall, the label KZ put on the trailer has the wrong size and it needs to be changed out to reflect the size tire that is actually on the trailer. No other changes needed to be made (at least on my Durango Gold anyway).

No other changes needed to be made (at least on my Durango Gold anyway). That makes sense, but - the original sticker matches the tires mounted.
If the sticker and tires match, then why would KZ send out a "corrected" sticker? Naturally, I don't expect anyone on the forum to know that.
We have 2 7k axles for 14k total on 4 wheels. The 235/80R16 are rated at 3082. So, the tires can carry 12000 pounds. The DG I have comes off the line at about that 12k +/-.
The capacity of my coach is 14k+.
The way I figure, the tires/wheels are not capable of carrying the total GVWR.
Am I right with the capacities and tire sizes?
Just wondering that's all.

My tire size on the label was actually wrong compared to the tires that are on the trailer. I'll have to look at the label and see what the capacities are.
Maybe KZ wanted to make sure they notified everybody and didn't miss anybody, so they included some extra VIN's to be sure. If they sent some out to some that didn't need it, then they don't have to change it. I don't know, just guessing.

Got to remember that you've got 2k+ on the hitch, so that's not on the axles. Lyle

Honestly I didn't think about the hitch.
Does it make a difference when I'm sitting long term and not hitched.
If KZ equipped with 80's, and the original sticker says 80's, then why do you think they would send a label, and a 2nd label, for 85's. My feeling is that they put 80's on, but sent me 2 labels for 85's, then there should be 85's on there.

If the label is "correct" and you have "incorrect" tires, then they need to send you a set of tires. If the tires you have are "correct", then they need to send you labels to match. Lyle

Actually, the "sticker" represents the MINIMUM tires, axles and wheel ratings ... you can (and probably should) use overrated wheels, axles, brakes and tires.

My early 2019 DG 380FLF has the G rated tires. The dealer mentioned the tires had been changed by them prior to sale. I guess mine was in between. A couple months after buying I must have received 20-25 recall notice with replacement stickers. I guess a mess up in mailing as they were for separate dealers all over the country. I took mine and trashed the rest. Then a month or so later received just one sent to me. Mine has 7K dexter axles I think the balance of weight sets in front jacks or truck bed. Regards Ron

Regards Ron Like I said ST235/85R16 & ST235/80R16 can be had in both load ranges E & G. If it came with G from the factory I assume it has 110PSI rims. If it didn't come with G load range the rims may not be safe at anything over 80PSI. Load range G will inflate to 110PSI, load range E will be 80PSI. What needs checked is the rim, that it is safe at the higher pressure. Not sure how you check, I think, the rim is stamped with PSI, KZ should know.
