We are looking at 2 different Durango Gold units to purchase. Both have dishwasher option. is it something many of you use? with only the 2 of us, will it become more of a "fancy" cabinet, or are they practical and what kind of job do they do? Thanks Kirt

I don't have one but do spend more time than most in my 5W. The downside I see is water use unless your always on full hook up, you drain fresh water and fill gray tanks. Wife & I find it more convenient to use paper, we use regular table ware and plastic glasses. Keeps chores down so we can sight see. We had Corelle ware & took it out.

I live full time in mine and don’t use dishwasher. Wish it was a pull out trash can.

We use ours all the time. The DW loves it. She also likes the fact that it is a real dish washer not a drawer type. Ours wash the dishes just like a home unit and it's operation is very quiet. Like Edd says if you boon dock a lot it may not be a good option, but we are 50amp glampers and it was a good choice for us. The G384RLT has plenty of storage and a pull out trash bin so that was not an issue for us, plus the 2020 models now feature the 7' tall kitchen slide which makes the cabinets even bigger.

We have a G384RLT an it's just the two of us along with a small dog, but lots of room to move around
an like you we wondered if we would use or even need the dish washer, boy after using it the first time
the DW loved it ...
As jetzen we also use ours all the time when we are on the road, but like the others stated, if your going to boon dock it may not be a good option for you, we most always 98.9 percent of the time have a full hookup so for us it's not a problem I agree with jetzen, I believe are dishwasher in the RV is as good as the one we have in out home an
is pretty quiet, we don't even have to turn the TV up while it's running

I started this thread last year. Yes, there is normally just the two of us, but we use the dishwasher every trip. It's just to easy, or we are spoiled or both! But, has proven to be a worthy option. Kirt

I didn't care for the dishwasher when I was shopping around but now living in RV full time I love it. Even if you don't run the dish washer, it is a great place to let your dishes dry after hand washing.

The dishwasher did not even make my wish list, but our chosen model came with the dishwasher. It is now my most favorite thing! After eating the dishes are gone in minutes. It is not great for larger items, so there will still need to be some hand washing, but I like that I can just put those in the dishwasher to store until I have another meal and the dishwasher is full and I can just do the large items once every few meals. The dishwasher only uses 2-3 gallons of water for the whole cycle so it not a big water issue. The only issue for us was that the toe plate was not installed at the factory and it is noisier when it runs. 1 1/2 years later we are still trying to get the part installed before our warranty runs out.

mammazuk I'd get after your dealer an if they tell you it's on order I'd call Kz Customer service an ask them if in fact such is on order, there's no way a toe plate should take a year an a half to be taken care of ... I can tell you that I know of a couple of owners here on the form that parts were on order an the owners later found out that their parts had came into the dealer but the ball was dropped because of employees an or parts managers being replace an parts being forgotten about on a back shelf ... One owner had a set of cabinets pigin holed at the dealer for a few months because the parts manager left an didn't pass on they were there ... After a number of calls the owner called Kz an found out they had been shipped an received at the dealer months back, dealer started to look an found them
I'm sure with tons of dishwashers being installed they have toe-plates laying around some place ... Also you might call the MFG of the dishwasher an ask them if one is available...
The MFG of an appliance is on the hook for repairs etc for the 1st year of your trailer, then Kz is
on the hook for the second year, so calling the dishwasher MFG with the serial number an model
of such may just get your problem taken care off Safe Travels Chuck
