I pushed to close the blackwater valve and the plastic tube/sheath that holds the cable broke free. As a result I now need to hold the black plastic tubing very tight with one hand while pushing my black water tank valve in, else everything moves together and the cable doesn't actuate the valve. It looks like a pain to remove the underbelly. Does one think a strong glue would work to hold the plastic. Also the valves are a pain to push in and pull out. I feel I will likely break another one free. Where does one get parts for this setup. The cables look very long and disappear through the underbelly.

Replace the cable & check the valve works freely. Locate it and cut the underbelly in a U shape with the closed end to the front of your RV. Use aluminum tape to close after your replace the needed parts.

Your suggestions seems simple enough. I just hope I don't cut anything important. Thanks for the input.

Make a 3-sided cut, with the uncut side to the FRONT, then tape up with a =removable= tape afterwards. If you use an Eternabond type tape, you'll have to cut it if you need access cuts. Later: A very useful tool to have is an inspection camera. Son-in-law has one that we use several times a year for various things. Harbor Freight has them from $80 to $180. The more expensive ones have internal flash memory and an SD card slot, for storing images. Also have a USB port to d/l the images or to use an external monitor. Lyle

I used loctite glue to hold the plastic tubing where it shouldn't slide. So far it's holding and only the cable is moving forward/backward; not the plastic tubing. If it breaks loose again I'm going to use JB Weld. I've used that on a radiator leak when I was out in Rapid City, SD a couple Augusts ago. Still holding.

I really think your asking for trouble, the jerry rig repair breaks and the tanks full, now you have a real issue. JMHO, it's your RV fix it as you see fit.

The most that will happen is the cable harness that harnesses the metal wire will break loose from behind the pull/push handle and I'll be back to holding the plastic harness tight against that whole handle apparatus while I push the handle to open the valve. Pulling to close is no issues as the black cable harness stops allowing the wire to continue to be pulled tight. It is hard to explain, but thanks for your concern.

Every RV I have had pulling opens the valve(s) to dump, pushing closes it. What you explaining just the opposite unless I am just not understanding.

I was having that problem but my RV dealership has some kind of tool that greases the cable. Works fine now. I kept snapping off the handles. It made pulling the valves a lot easier.

I said it backwards; and that's even after proof reading.

No, you're right. I said it backwards; and that's even after proof reading. My 1st 16ft RV had an ice box, stove, no A/C or toilet. Just thought you had something I had not seen before as they come out with new stuff all the time, they even make electric controlled valves. If I get too feeble to go out and pull a valve it's time to quit thee RVing.

I believe we are pretty close to that now, we push buttons to open an close awnings, levelers, turn on an off lights, I'm beginning to get lazy from what I use to do with our old 5th wheel of manually cranking all those an having to push switchs, now I do everything from my phone APP for the most part, now thats GLAMPING

Chuck 1st RV no slides, no fridge, no heater, no hot water, no toilet, no shower/tub, no awning. crank front jack, no levelers; didn't worry as long as I could walk, not roll out of bed and it didn't roll away. Heater was flower pot upside down on a burner with a water can on top for moisture. Pulled it with a full size Bronco and everyone knew I said if the Bronco will go so will the TT. Drug the back wall from the floor in a creak and covered that gap with plywood nailed up under. Had milk freeze solid in the ice box on an elk hunt, ran out of propane in the single tank. You came a long way baby.
