Hello All, We are picking up our new KZ RV tomorrow afternoon! Looking to learn all the hard lessons the easy way, we'll see? Really I'm just going to enjoy the RV and all the new friends we make along the way.

Welcome to the forum and the KZ world. Feel free to ask questions, no attitude or judgement here.
Hard lesson #1: Buy a top quality sewer hose. #2: Get a good water pressure regulator. #3: Buy top quality electrical adapters (50-30A,30-15A) because you never know what you are going to find. #4:(There will be discussion here) But...Replace the OEM China Bomb tires as soon as budget allows. I haven't had good luck with them, but others haven't had issues. Regularly inspect all caulked/ sealed joints- water leaks will ruin your coach quicker than anything. Most importantly-Enjoy your new coach, have fun.

My list of repairs, improvements and accessories now totals 270 line items. If you ever need something to do, let me know. For example, I spent some quality time this past weekend mounting both sets of steps correctly using brackets I made.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome and advice! We just got back from our maiden voyage, a trip from North East Ohio to Alabama to visit our son and daughter in law. Wow! What a trip, the new Durango is great and the RAM pulled it very well. I cannot get over how much easier it pulls than my old TT. I was concerned beforehand about when we got into the mountains but as it turns out, there was no problem at all. I got a quick education (out of necessity) on all aspects of the new rig! We had full hook up so that made it a bit easier. I could not be happier with our new 5er.
Thanks again to all!

Welcome. I used to have an open range and belonged to their forum. I remember someone with the same user name there. Would that happen to be you?

Yes it was me, and I remember your user name as well! How are you doing?
I traded in my 2013 Open Range Journeyer JT337RLS, it was a very nice reliable trailer. I didn't have any "major" problems and never had a leak. It pulled as good as a TT could and I had the ProPride no sway hitch but it was no match as compared to how this fifth wheel pulls.
What did you trade up from and what is your new toy?

I traded in a 2011 Open Range 246FLR for a 336VRK Sportrek Touring Edition. I didn't have any trouble with it just wanted something with more room. Not sure if you attended any of the Open Range Rallys but KZ has annual rally in Shipshewana in case your interested. The KZ rally is limited to 40 or so trailers.

I looked up your new trailer, very very nice! We weren't able to attend any of the Open Range rallies due to work & timing of vacations. We are interested in the 2020 KZ Rally, have the dates been set yet?

The dates are not set yet but the rally is typically in early August. Keep a watch on the forums as it is usually announced in December or January.
