FYI. I purchased a system from TST a couple years ago. Was told because I didn’t get the flow thru (larger one) I didn’t have to change the valve stems to all steel. I have had my third one to leak at the stem. The very thing I was. Trying to prevent was created by the system. All four sensors are now riding in my center console.

It may be the provider valve stems are weak. The tires themselves have held up good so far.

Rule of thumb for TPMS system, is to =always= use steel stems. Rubber ones just don't stand up to even that minuscule weight on them.

Yes, get the metal stems, rubber flexing will eventually fail.
The sensors depend on a perfect seal where they meet the valve stem, so look carefully at the end where it meets the sensor gasket. I have had stems with a rough edge cause leaks, so I dressed them carefully with a fine file. Even better, dress the new stems in a lathe or drill press before installation. It would be best to get stainless steel stems as the others usually rust, you likely will not find them at a local tire shop.

Well, maybe I'm just lucky. I've had my TST since May of 2013. I never changed out my stems and they still don't leak.

First thing I did after I received my senders from Tire Safety was install metal valve stems. because of inset in the outside of my tredit wheels had to make sure to get the stems where the nut is on the inside of the wheel. On there 4 years, second set of tires (got rid of those China bombs) no problems at all, other than finally had to replace the batteries in the sending units before we headed to Alaska in June

Amen! Less than a minute per tire. I check 'em all plus clean the windshield while filling up. Our TV only has a 26 gallon tank so they get checked often.

My TPMS on the trailer has saved me from serious problems three times, the most recent was screw thru the tire. Having real time effortless monitoring versus once ever 26 gallons is so much better and the time involved is zero minutes. The monitor is checked before departing so that a slow leak can be addressed before getting on the highway. The first modification to my Ford truck was to replace that miserable 26 gallon tank with a 50 gallon.

X3 Safety is critical when towing a big camper. The TST so far has worked very well for us. I would rather know if something has happened during driving then when it's too late. I went with a cheap amazon one that sorta worked but it lost signal to random sensors more often then I would like.
Our 5ht wheel came with steel valve stems. At least I think they are. They are metal up to the caps/sensors.

I had to add a repeater to keep my TST in contact with the sensors. Do you have a TST repeater? Perhaps the cheap Amazon system needed one as well.

I added a repeater also before this last trip. It really helped. I will put the system back to work after replacing all the valve stems. The leak was obvious, you could see the bubbles right at the base of the valve stem, as was also obvious why it leaked there. The extra weight of the monitor. I just found it strange that I was the only one having this serious a problem. Three out of four tires. I have experienced major damage to a 5er from a flat, that's why I got this system. I will say this, with all three flats, the system worked as was designed and I got to a tire service center before they went completely down. The provider tires themselves have been flawless. On a side note, out west in Wyoming when I was getting the last one fixed, the guy looked around at me and said, "Mister are your going to keep this camper?" I responded that I planned to. "Get some 14 ply tires."

On the TST we do not need a repeater. The cheap amazon one did not have one available.

I called TST in Cummings Ga when I was having trouble with my system connecting all 4 tires every time. I would have to put the receiver in a certain spot inside the truck to make it work. She sent me a repeater free of charge. Works perfect now. Very simple to install. Installed 4 new Sailun 637 G rated with steel valve stems. What a tire. Extremely heavy.
