Purchased a trailer. Took it out twice last summer. Winterized it and upon inspection this April (two months out of 12-month warranty) we noticed water damage in the front interior corner. KZ will do nothing about it because it was "discovered" outside of the 12 month warranty period. I'm sure this occurred during the winter. Anyone with feedback as to how I can hold KZ responsible? AFTER we paid $200 to have the entire roof sealed, we noticed the front exterior started to delaminate. Any feedback as to why this is occurring?

ohiopercussionman I feel your pain but out of warranty is out warranty no mater if it was one month or one year makes no difference sorry to say ... I liken it to a car, when your warranty over it is over even if it's one mile or one week the MFG will not honor any repairs because it over the set amount that was agreed on ... If it was a mistake in workmanship when it was built you might stand a chance but it sounds as if the front cap may have leaked because it wasn't sealled right ... This is a good reason why you should inspect your roof in the fall an in the spring to make sure your roof, windows etc are all sealed ... But I would talk with your dealer an see if he/she can talk with Kz an come to some sort of agreement on what to do ...
Also you might try an hold the people who sealed your roof responsible for not doing a correct job, it isn't Kz's fault that they
did a poor job ... Think of it this way, if your local garage put in the wrong spark plugs an your engine blue up if wassn't the
fault of the car MFG it was the fault of the garage that did the work ...
On de-lamination there is a few ways it can happen, either water intrusion or bad glue or poor mixture when the sides/cap were made, again I would have your dealer or a good RV repair shop an look at such an see what the reason was to it having happened ... Good Luck an sorry to here this happened to you Chuck

We don't know what trailer you have or if it does indeed have a laminated front, some models have only laminated sides. We don't know what the roof sealing means, I suspect that a dab or two of caulk was applied for the low price of $200. We don't know if you have a TPO, fiberglass or metal roof. I would pursue the "roof sealed" angle and consider legal action if necessary. Take photos for future use and send them to KZ as well as post them here.

Like a bad hydraulic slide ram, out of warranty ---- I knew when they found it it was out. Just when does it end 12 months extended to 15 25 extended to 30? There is no never ending warranty.

I"m probably not making myself clear...that's what i get for condensing. The water damage occurred during the winter months (within the warrant period). But I didn't not notice it until we inspected it (two months after warranty). So occurrence and observance were two different times. It's a 2018 Escape E160RBT. Sealing means they completely removed / reapplied the beigh gummy stuff on the entire roof. They even told me that was 'grabbing at straws' because the damage area was nowhere near where they sealed it. And, note...there was nothing wrong with the seals on the roof. As, when they completed the sealing, the damage continued to get worse over the next few weeks with NO RAIN. I'm ready to dump this S.O.B. in the river.

Unfortunately, unless you get it in to the dealer =before= the warranty ends, you're SOL. That's why I'm having some things done =now= before my warranty expires in November, even though I'd like to use my FW in the coming few weeks. If you had the maintenance done =before= the warranty expired, then you'd have a let to stand on. Again, unfortunately, it sounds like you had the maintenance done after you discovered the delam issue. Delam can continue as the body goes through heating/cooling cycles in the sun, as the walls expand and contract, even though the interior's dried out. Have you thought of filing an insurance claim? I agree with everyone else, once warranty is up you are SOL even if the problem happened before such was up ... It's like your car warranty, if your engine stopped running under warranty an you let it sit till after the warranty was up the car MFG would not honor it because it is out of warranty, same with your trailer, out of warranty is out of warranty an now it up to you to fix what ever is needed .. I agree with laknox, file an insurance claim is you best bet Good Luck Chuck
