Has anyone considered an easier access point to the storage space under the dinette seats? I hate taking cusions off and lifting panels just to get something out, like a pot that we forgot about for dinner.
I'm contemplating cutting out the face panels and installing doors on both sides for easy access. I'm also considering a wide door that opens upward, (with a fold down leg to keep it open) for the section cloest to the outer wall (under the window).
I was also thinking about runnning full length drawers given the length of the storage area.
Anyone considered the same? Done anything similar? Have any suggestions?
Thanks for reading.

Our 261RKS Spree has a deep drawer under one of the dinette benches, it works very well. It works nicely for getting items in the back to the front. Be sure to consider the amount of weight being put into the draw when buying the hardware, if you go that route.

bagpipes, not sure if this would work for you. I have a 2012 E19SB. I too found that having to access the storage under the dinette bench by lifting the cushion and board made that are almost useless. My solution was to add an outside access to this area. I found a new 24"x12" exterior access door with lock and keys at a trailer surplus outfit on eBay (cheap). Using my existing trunk access door as a reference for the measurements I very carefully located and measured and remeasured and then measured again before cutting the hole through the laminated side of my trailer. Using 3/4" plywood and industrial construction adhesive I reinforced the inside the newly cut opening and installed the door. Looks great, works great. It took some time, but the pay-off was having a very useful storage area.

I appreciate the suggestion but I'm not too jazzed about cutting into the exterior wall. I'm confident with my abilities but the unit is still under warranty and I'm not sure that an outside door would help us access what we need. Everything in there is stuff that we would need while making lunch / dinner etc (maybe some extra blankets during the night.....things like that). I have seen those doors added on and they do look like a good option if you'd normally be storing outside items etc.
As for now, my trailer is in the shop having some warranty things looked at but I think I'm going to go with the original idea and install some doors with slide outs under there so we can access it from inside.
I'll post up some pics once I get it sorted.

"I have seen those doors added on and they do look like a good option if you'd normally be storing outside items etc." That is exactly what I use that storage for, smaller set-up and outdoor items. Good luck with your storage conversion.
