picking up new (to me) 2015 tt on weds-i don't know how long it's been at dealer sitting on lot-i'm guessing the battery won't be in best shape &prob discharge rapidly at very least. it's been 13+years since our old motorhome was running &my exhusband insisted on doing most maintenance type stuff etc- so while I'm from a 'camping' family I've got some learning to do anyway..... what's best battery for ruffin' it? thanks

Make it a selling point for the dealer... you want me to buy it, put a battery in it for me.

Better, yet, tell the dealer to replace the battery with a 6v golf cart battery and you'll pay the difference to install the 2nd one. You'll have =true= deep cycle performance for those time you might need to be dry camping. $80-100 each at Sam's or Costco. Will need a crossover cable and a second battery box.

Good to hear you got a battery to get going with. Yes, do some research, overall 2 6V golf cart batteries are a good foundation.

ok-so they did include new battery thanks for info-am intrigued by golf cart battery use &will have to do some further research Nice. My selling dealer refused to do that, even when I pointed out it was dead when we looked at it. Had to use a jumper battery to even turn the lights on. With the price they gave us, and the fact I wanted the 2 6v batteries anyway, it wasn't worth arguing over. Only real issue is that the OEM battery box for the 12v is smaller than the golf cart batteries =and= it's screwed AND glued to the compartment base. Real PITA! Glad your dealer stepped up. Personally, I bought a very good 15w solar charger that I keep on my battery while in storage. It's designed for use in vehicles that sit for long periods of time, like emergency vehicles or construction equipment, and has a 3-stage charge controller. It'll kick up to nearly 15v for short periods to keep the batteries from sulfating as well as "stirring" the electrolyte. Not cheap, at about $250 each, but we've got 4 of them on various things around our shop, and they =do= work. See Pulse Tech Solar. Lyle
