The DW and I will be purchasing a new mattress, it will be thicker than the original so we will need to move the headboard. Any Idea how they are attached??

The little buttons in the roll & tuck are actually snaps. Get a screw driver under the edge and lift, you find screws under. Pull them all, I think the corner had longer screws and a few in the middle. They are reusable and wife recovered the headboard while off, then did the valances to match.

Thanks Edd that's what I was thinking and I wasn't going to proceed until I was sure.

This is a follow up, I finally got around to taking the headboard off today. My head board was not attached like yours Edd. Mine must have had 100 staples through the upper and lower edge, about 20 were actually holding it on. Once I figure out how much I need to raise it to accommodate the new mattress, I will reattach it like yours is. I think 6 longer screws through the pleat buttons should hold it

Wonder why they are different? Different day of the week, different employee, grab what ever is closest to attach it? That being the case each one is custom made!!

What kind of mattress did you buy?

What kind of mattress did you buy? It is a Serta Fallcrest plush residential king. 76x80x10. It is a real mattress not one that comes in a box. We must move the headboard up 3" . A 12" thick mattress will also fit if you want to raise the night stand also. In the G384 the biggest challenge will be getting the mattress to bend around the corner to get the full length into the bed room. Once in you will loose 2" of bedroom width on each side of the bed because of the extra width of the mattress compared to an RV king mattress.

Two bad backs so we decide to get a Sleep number, buddy's got one and swears by it. The sleep number shops have no mattresses in stock, pay for it and they make it, about two weeks to get and $150 delivery charge, can't be excluded. I now have a Tempurpedic in the 5W, wish we could have made a video of us wrestling that in.

So the mattress finally got delivered. My fear of it being a real bear to install did not happen. The hardest part was getting a 76" mattress through a 72" high entry door. Once the mattress was inside a small amount of thought was needed before we proceeded to the bed room. You had to think the whole process out as to how the bed was going to lay, what side was up on the mattress, what side was going to be the head and foot. then up the stairs, through the bedroom door, bend around the wall (easier than I thought), tilt the mattress and let it plop on the bed platform.
Now close the slide and pray my measurements were correct (they were).
Slide the mattress down put on the mattress pad and fitted sheet, slide the mattress back up to the wall and re-install the headboard. finish making the bed in a traditional St. George of Paris method. This is a long standing joke between The DW and myself. Photos to follow.

Looks great. Last year we got a custom Latex Mattress made by a company in San Antonio (Cantwell Mattress Company). Sleeps great but it is HEAVY ... not sure that Janice and I could ever move it. Our old mattress (came with the unit) had broken down after about 2 years. The new one was delivered and set up by Cantwell. Thank goodness because those two strong young men were needed ... they took our old one away. A good mattress makes a big difference in quality of life. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new one.
