We very recently purchased our new KZ Durango from a very large RV dealer everyone knows. It’s the closest dealer to us for this brand and despite reviews the dealer was great as well as the tech I was working with. Available for my wife’s 2000 questions over weeks and our multiple trips with many demands before we would commit. Day of purchase came and we spent from open to close there doing our PDI and were ready for finally doing some paperwork. Wife and I discussed going in KZ has 2 years and everything else inside 1 so we weren’t interested in whatever they were selling warrant wise. We knew we still had to get through the aggressive pitch though so were prepared. After a while and some aggression on his part he lobs the final attempt. He shows me how he can extend the loan and only pay a (little more). This took me by enough surprise I had to do some quick math to realize he just tried to sell me a almost 15 thousand dollar 7 year warranty. I was sure I was off so had to do the math two more times before laughing and calling him on it. He mumbled something about peace of mind and not that much before agreeing if we didn’t want it we could finish.
Long story for the point but please be careful as some of the lending practices out there around RV’s run past predatory in to what should be criminal.

All to true. Sales people are there to sell and make money for their employer, be it an automotive or RV dealership.

Here's one that blew my mind. Guy from our church goes into CW to buy a =nice= TT, like 6 figure MSRP nice. Has cash and wants to give them a check for the entire amount, out the door (NOT the MSRP). They only take about 20% off the retail. Friend is confused as to why they'd turn down a large chunk of cash that they'd then immediately be able to spend on another rig. They say that they'll finance, 12 months no interest, and give him closer to 35% off MSRP. So, friend finances it, pays a lot less and has a new TT. Well, it's the usual no QC and issue after issue. Friend finds out that, after 3 payments, there's no penalty, so he walks in with his paperwork and check book and pays the SOB off. Stuns the finance people to no end. THEY'RE confused, but they work at CW, so that's not surprising. Anyway, out of the first 12 months he owned it, the rig was in "covered storage" for 9 months while they fixed all the stuff that was wrong or broke when he used it.

I tried buying something a CW a few years or so back, I had looked on line an new the price, when I walked up to the counter to pay i told the girl what the web site price an expect to pay such, she stated that price was only on the web an not the store price ... I ask for the manager an again stated that the internet price was an that why am I paying more at the store, again the manager stated that the price's were different an if I wanted that price I should buy off the internet an not the store ... I along with two other customers behind me left what they were buying an walked out ... Safe Travels Chuck

Lyle Your would have thought they would have jumped at the wen price because they didn't have to pay shipping since it was over a $100 but was funny was the price of the item was $20 dollars more in the store than on line Ugh !!!

I have a local dealer who's parts manager is willing to deal- he is close enough to internet / CW pricing to where it isn't worth the trouble to order online or drive to C/W in CA. Plus I like keeping the money local.
