Wife and I are close to pulling the trigger on a 1500 292bht and everything we have read here and online looks great. I do have a bed that is 58 inches to the rails and was wondering if anyone else has the half ton model 5er and a tall bed and how it sits? Did you have to make any adjustments? The auto slider hitch I am looking at doesn’t have a height adjustment so I will only have play room on the 5th wheel. Any real life experience or advice would be greatly appreciated before we pull the trigger on this decision. Thank you all.

My F250's bed sits a solid 57" high, all I did was raise the hitch up one set of holes from middle, and I was good. Yep, your gonna have to make your adjustments with the pin box, which may not have the smaller adjustments the typical hitch does. How committed to the auto slide hitch are ya?

For convinience and forgetfulness I would really like it if I can. I saw I think it was demco? Had an adjustable one. Always a lot going on when we show up or leave and with kids going a mile a minute the autoslider would make me feel a bit safer I think. I’m glad to hear from someone who had about the same height though and it worked. I think I’m going down a tire size as well so I’ll be about the same height. You aren’t nose high with your setup?
We went and checked out the unit we have fallen in love with again yesterday and saw about a teaspoon of water in the corner of the backslide that was left half open. And on the other side in the corner the floor that runs against the slide felt lifted a tiny bit as well. So that is worrying us a bit as well.
Thanks again for your answers. Big decision to make and want to make sure we are making it right.

I can understand wanting an auto slider. I would think going down a tire size just might do the trick, but your speedo might be off a bit, but a savvy dealer can fix that with a software adjustment. Yep we sit level That is pure garbage that they left the slide open. I would give it a long hard look. If the floor has swollen, I would probably pass, once that OSB gets wet enough to swell, it aint coming back. If this is at a dealer, they need to order you like the one they screwed up. Best of luck to ya, we love our KZ.
