Hey all, me again, I scraped the roof with some tree branches. After climbing up and inspecting, there are no tears, but I can see where branches drug about 4’ of roof. There are ripples that have some small holes pin hole. I thinking I can just get the proper tape like eternabond and tape over the two lines where the branches drug along roof. Any suggestions? What do I clean surface with before applying tape? FYI it is about 4-6’ in length.
One other thing I noticed a dark line running across roof about 1” wide it looks like it some joint under membrane. There are 2 or 3 of these along roof maybe every 8’? We picked up from dealer August 1, 2018
Regards Ron

Ron Your roof is one solid peace from the cab to the rear of the trailer, some minor ripples are normal depending on temperature do to expansion can contraction ... I use Dawn dish soap to clean our roof using a soft brush for the most part, however in some tough spots I use s small stiff bush ... I think I would use self leveling sealant for pin holes, the Kz factory gave most of us a extra tube or two of Alpha 1021 self-leveling sealant instead of the tape which I believe I would use, but that's only me, other may think different Safe Travels Chuck

Thanks Chuck, the ripples are definitely from tree branches caught just after pulling under tree then backing up and going alternate way. I will try to get back up there and take pictures Thursday. I’m in Little Rock w/o trailer getting a cancer follow scans. Thanks for all assistance now and past

oh an the dark line running across roof about 1” wide may be the joints were the plywood sheets join, I would think it shouldn't be anything to worry about, your just seeing joints, but again others may have a different take on such AGN Safe Travels Chuck

X 2 for all Chuck said. I too prefer sealant to tape, and yep, you are probably seeing seams. Typically the installer puts a tape of some sort on the plywood seams to protect the roof membrane.

being 1 inch wide your more than likely seeing the outline of the tape not the seem, seem would be very small maybe 1/16 if that Chuck

Just my opinion here, but roof sealant can and will dry out, crack and require resealing ... for flat surface roof repair, eternabond tape is a PERMANENT repair. The stuff is amazing. Again, JIMO.

Any recommendations on preparing surface? Just wash off, alcohol, some other cleaner?

Depends ... if it is very dirty, just wash with a gentle soap and water. Make sure it’s dry. If it’s not too dirty eternabond will stick like crazy. Get it where you want it because once you put it on you aren’t going to be able to move it.

I agree with eternabond. I rubbed some prep cleaner and that stuff I don’t think will ever come off. If you order from amazon make sure it says eternabond. There is another brand and not sure if it’s as good.

There is another brand and not sure if it’s as good. CW doesn't carry Eternabond, so I grabbed something similar. I put it on my old Komfort and had a bit left over that I used on my KZ. So far, it seems to be pretty permanent. Didn't have a roller, so I used a 2" socket, instead. :-) Lyle

Eternabond patches aren't pretty, but they are a permanent fix. Nobody can see this anyway, so better to be "really" fixed than pretty. Good job.
