I thought I would share my recent experience with the A/C units on my new/used fifth wheel. Take a look at the pic and see if you can tell what is wrong. No need to answer because the pic looks like a normal setup for a roof mount air conditioner. Now for the rest of the story. The camper is a 2015 Durango D345SE, we purchased it back in December. Since the temps that day were well below freezing we couldn't really test the air conditioners on the coach. Hindsight tells us we could have at least turned on the blowers. Anyway fast forward to last Friday, and with the temps near 70 it was a good time to give them a test. After all our first trip is in about 6 weeks and I don't want to wait until the last day to see if they work. I turn on the main air and feel for air coming out the ducted vents, nothing, not even a whisper of air. Shut it down and turn on the bedroom air, same thing nothing coming out the ducted vents. I then feel around the unit and lot's of air coming out the intake for the unit, what? I feel around the quick dump vents and I can feel air being pulled into the unit, what? My first thought is the blower is running backwards, is that even possible? Spend the next hour or so on the web looking at any and all possible issues. Not much on the web, but the consensus is they can't run backwards. My next step is to pull the covers and take a look on the inside. Maybe this will shed some light on the problem. Well it became clear what the problem was as soon as I pulled the first one off. It was the covers, yes both covers were put on wrong, 180 degrees rotated! Flipped them around and all is good. Now I have several questions all of which can't be answered, why, how and when were these put on wrong? Did the PO do this? Did it come that way and he didn't know they weren't put on right and that's why he traded it in? I guess when trouble shooting any problems, always look at the obvious first.
