We have a 42’ 5th wheel that came with a 4 point Lippert leveling system. We feel that may be inadequate support and want to add back jacks. I am surprised that this camper only came with 4 jacks.... i am looking for recommendations on how far from the back bumper would be best to install extra jacks. I have the in-between wheel chock blocks which I hope will limit front to back movement. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Most leveling systems have more than enough capability to lift the entire rig off the ground, so check the specs on the jacks you do have. It does surprise me a bit that a 42' doesn't have a 6-point, though. If you don't have JT Strongarms or Steadyfast stabilizers, they help a =lot= to take the shakes out. Frankly, were it me and I were worried about movement, I think I'd go the cheap route and just get some jack stands to put under the frame a few feet in front of the tail and just snug them up. A pair of 6 ton jacks are under $50 at Harbor Freight. Oops, missed the title! :-) 2014 brochure doesn't show any 42' models; all the Goldrush variations are 40'6" and 14,500 GVW. Picture also shows the 4-point system and JT Strongarms. With a GVW of only 14.5k, a 4-pt system should have more than enough capability of lifting to at least lift one side, if not the whole rig off the ground. Your rear jacks should be behind the rear wheels, so no other support on the rear should be necessary at all. Again, if you feel you need more support, get the jack stands as I suggested. I know that the difference between the "old style" jacks on our old Komfort, with crank-down rear stabilizers, and the 4-pt on our '17 D277RLT, is amazing, so much so that it's easy to forget to tighten the JTs for even more stability. If your just going to put screw type jacks on the back I'd put the about 2ft to 3ft from the back of the trailer ... Safe Travels Chuck
