2004 KZ Coyote 20C Couch Question

My new to me 2004 20C has a foldout couch, grab the middle of the bottom seat, pull and it converts to a bed (of sorts) The main outside storage space is under this couch. I could swear the dealer who sold the camper told me you can access this storage area from inside the camper, but I can't figure it out. With the couch folded out, if I try to raise either side it just wants to fold back up. Am I missing something?
