Looking for those who have a 384RLT with washer & dryer installed (factory or aftermarket), wondering which way the doors open on the washer/dryer? Are they hinged on the left facing them or the right facing them? Ours didn't come with washer/dryer and thinking about adding them but when I look on line everyone I saw are hinged on the left while the door to the closet is hinged on the right so didn't know if that made it hard to load/unload clothes or not. So those of you that have a 384RLT with washer/dryer which way is yours hinged and does it create an issue?
Thanks, Rick

I have the Splendide Ariston stackable washer and dryer. The doors open to the left and are not reversible. No problem getting laundry in and out. Don't know if brand makes a difference. I would not recommend the combo unit. It takes way To long To do multiple loads.
To make your life easier on installation the entire door and jamb should be removed. This will give you JUST ENOUGH clearance side to side to squeeze the units into place. The washer must be put in place first then hook up your water/electric and drain hose. Run the unit and check for leaks. Only after you are satisfied with that installation, install the dryer. After the dryer is installed you will not have access to any connection. The dryer then gets bolted to the washer.
Replace door assembly.

Thanks for the reply, we do want a stackable, was just worried that the left hand hinge would be an issue and our dealer couldn't answer if the 384's came with left hand hinged or not. I figured it's going to be tight getting the dryer hooked up, still not positive how to the vent hose connected, but guess I'll figure it out, long hose? reach thru hole cut for vent?
Thanks Rick

Ditto what Jetzen said. I have a 384 with the Splendide Ariston stackable washer and dryer. I have no problem getting the clothes in and out with the left side hinges on the w/d. As for installation, my dealer did it at time of purchase so I can't give any ideas on that. I don't think you will regret getting the Splendide.

I have the Splendide WD2100XC combination unit, opens to the left and we love it. We don't let the laundry build up and do a load every couple days, linens on a day cloths aren't done. The cloths will wrinkle if left in to dry completely so we have a tension rod in the shower to hang cloths to finish drying, less wrinkles.

We also have the 384. We had dealer install the stackable whirlpool units. The dryer opens to the right and washer opens to the left. Their is no problem loading or unloading clothes. We are pleased with them. They are similar to the ones we had in our class a.

I just purchased washer & dryer units for our 371RTL. Has anybody cut the vent in on the driver side closet yet? And how did that go? And you guys with the 384's are your dryers Ventless?

My dealer installed the washer and dryer for me, so they cut the hole in the trailer for the vent. Mine are the stackable Splendide washer and dryer so it is a vented dryer.

I'm hoping I can get to somebody at KZ with knowledge of doing the hole cutting location. Just not wanting to find a stud or wires when cutting it. I have very little faith in any KZ dealer to do much on anything. I'll make it happen on my own.

What KZ tells you is very likely going to be different to what's actually there, given the QC these days. Lyle

Lyle I have to say if you ever meet the Kz Techs like some of us have you might sing a different story, they are pretty darn good an pay attention to detail, ronc, rvdude, myself a others all have seen their actions at the rally an at the factory close up an personnel ... The assembly line may be different in some respects but the RV Techs that do repairs at the rally an at the Kz repair shop take pride in what they are doing an make sure it's right an your satisfied it is right or they will redo it till you are ... Safe Travels Chuck

On any dewy morning the moisture will reveal the wall superstructure. The measurement on the outside wall for the hole center would be 38" up from the belt molding and 32" right of the slide bulb seal. There are no wiring harnesses on outside walls. Almost all wires run through the roof then down to whatever is lights, speakers etc or through the underbelly. Hope this helps.

Being an electrician in another life prior to law school, you could drill 1/2-3/4” hole and use fingers or a probe to confirm no wires, etc. regards Ron

I just purchased washer & dryer units for our 371RTL. Has anybody cut the vent in on the driver side closet yet? And how did that go? And you guys with the 384's are your dryers Ventless? I would strongly suggest you get one that vents to the outside. Ventless, just means it exhausts the damp air into your rig ... this will increase the load on your AC's and could cause mold, condensation issues, etc. Just nothing good IMO.

That's not true about all ventless dryers: The WDC7100XC's condenser dryer system requires 2.5 gallons of water per hour during the dry cycle. This is a sealed system that will not add heat or humidity to the surrounding area. We ended up buying the combo unit and as stated above on their web site it doesn't add any humidity or heat to the rv. RickeyS

Respectfully ... I believe they say that in their advertising ... but it's physics. The moisture doesn't just "disappear", it must go somewhere, so if not outside the rig, it must go inside the rig .... unless there is a third choice I am not aware of.

They run through the roof and down and though underbelly and up to what ever appliance lights, outlets, speakers etc.. Again no wiring runing through the walls front to back.

Well, I must say that we have used ours and it does not add heat or moisture to the rv, what happens is it condenses the moisture and it goes down the drain, they are not like the old dryers that vent into your house/rv, there is not even a duct outlet on them. So I stand by it as we own one and not just taking it as advertisement. New technology. Rick

Hummm ... condensing unit (like a small refrigeration unit and a pump to overboard the condensation). New technology for sure. Thanks for the info. Learn something new every day.
