It is time to replace my battery on my 14' KZ Classic. Is the All Glass Material (ASG) batteries worth the extra cost. I know the zero maintenance is attractive but is it worth the cost. We do not boondock but will dry camp at Walmarts every other day when driving across country. Thx. Ed

No to me, it's not a problem to check them occasionally. My ATV's yes, if they tip they won't spill.

There are some decent advantages to agm vs. standard wet cells. As you already know, water adds are no longer an issue. AGM's can be charged and stored in a dry bay. This makes it easier if you're trying to add several for capacity. AGM's will handle drain down a little better due to the cell configuration. Cost difference is small if you shop around; I personally bought the powerstar brand through big time battery. Life span of the battery is far better than any standard 12V deep cycle and on par with 6V deep cycles. My batteries are 200Ah variety and cost 360 each from them. I've noticed these last about 10% longer than the previous 6V wet cells I had (crown 225's and cost about 130 each plus battery boxes 69 each). I guess weigh out the cost vs. potential benefits is my suggestion.
