Did anyone purchase the 5 year protection plan the dealerships offer? It supposed to keep away stains, odors and if the interior gets damaged they repair it. They are telling us $700 for the interior package and $2400 for both interior and exterior.

It's covered under warranted for two years if it breaks. Just do the standard upkeep and you don't need all the add on's they will try to sell you. Save the $2400 and use it for camping or stuff you will end up buying for your RV.

Buy a can of Scotchgard and a can of wax. Do the work yourself and have a much better result. Those add-ons are simply a rip-off.

I'm not sure about not buying the extra insurance, if you read one of the other threads an owner has a 2016 trailer that has a bad floor, he is out of warranty now an is looking for the dealer or Kz to repair such ... This may or may not be a major problem but at around $125.00 an hour which most RV dealers or Repair shops charge now days you can eat up a $700 in labor pretty fast an worse yet start to add in parts or replacement of appliances, water heaters, roofs, delamination Ugh !!! An I;m sure like Edd505, lynnmor, an myself we can fix things as needed to a point an some beyond, but others can't ... I agree the 1st two years is on Kz, so really your only buying three years but say after two years you have to replace your frig, their is 1k, then the air conditioner goes out another $1000 or like the owner in another thread have to replace the floor, now we are talking more than likely 2k or more... So the way I look at it I could save up the money, repair it myself which still cost me money or buy the insurance an let someone else repair it an complain if it's not done right ... Lastly you have to ask yourself, can I replace my frig myself, can I replace of repair that slide, can I repair or replace that Hydraulic pump, can I replace that furnace or repair such, if you can't or wonder if you can then the extended warranty if for you, if you can then save the money is the way I'd look at it ... Safe Travels Chuck

I believe mareca was referring to an appearance protection plan, not a mechanical insurance "warranty". Here is one such overpriced wax job: link

So we didn't go with the protection plan. Thanks for the input.
