I'm contemplating adding a washer and dryer to our 384RLT. Besides wondering how difficult it would be to add the exhaust vent to the camper, which drain does the washer drain into? Is it the kitchen tank or would it be bathroom grey water?

I'm contemplating adding a washer and dryer to our 384RLT. Besides wondering how difficult it would be to add the exhaust vent to the camper, which drain does the washer drain into? Is it the kitchen tank or would it be bathroom grey water? I have a G384 and have the stackable separate washer dryer units. They are the Splendede Ariston units. I do not reccomend the combo unit, it takes too long to do a.load of laundry.First thing you will need to do is to remove the entire door, jamb and all. This will give you just enough wiggle room to get the units in. Cutting the hole for the dryer vent is actually the easy part. Depending on what year you have is what else will need to be removed. The washer should drain into the bathroom gray tank at least that is where mine drains. You would first remove the door, then cut the hole for the dryer, then check all water connections and make sure they are sound and in good condition. Install the washer and run a quick cycle before installing the dryer, check all water connections and drain for leaks. Once this is done have some means to have the dryer at the proper height before sliding it in. Connect the dryer vent hose, then slide the dryer in. The bottom of the dryer will bolt to the top of the washer with the proper installation kit. Once both units are in place there is MINIMAL room in the closet. No need to boot the washer to the floor, they really can't go any where. Reinstall the closet door and jamb. Once every thing is in place You will not be able to get to any connections electrical, water or dryer vent so double and triple check everything.

The stack washer and dryer (I have the same one Jetzen has) is a great thing to have. I love having it in the trailer and not having to go to the laundromat. As for installation, my dealer installed it for free (I bought the washer and dryer) when I bought the trailer so I can't help out on that.
Did you get your other problems repaired?

I'm the odd ball as I have the combo unit. Wife and I did the install in a couple hours. She likes the combo but it does take some time, she wil run a load in the evening while we watch TV. She removes the cloths, & sheets just before dry and hangs them in the shower on one of the tension shower curtain rods, removes wrinkles. Unlike home we don't let laundry build and do a small load every few days. Splendine says it will take 15LBS but we keep the loads smaller. We also installed a drain pan under the washer for just in case. It drains to the bathroom tank. I have a different model so I can't help with how to get it in.
If you do the install you will need a stud finder, drill, 4" hole saw, screw drivers.

We got the camper back a couple of weeks ago. Since it is winterized, I can only take their word for the leak on the dishwasher being fixed. They did say they found the area where a fitting wasn't tight. They shimmed the floor in the bedroom and took out the pry bar they had used to stop the squeak. Told me that they had a couple of other units do this and knew where it needed to be shimmed. I couldn't hear anything when I walked around the bedroom. The awning is supposed to be fixed - "sealed it up" tight. We will see, I have my doubts this stops any future problems since the gutter still drains directly onto the motor. I hope I'm wrong.

Trying to follow your logic. If the gutter drained to a different spot would your awning motor magically not get wet when it rained?? Seems to me when it rained it would get water on it regardless.

kathyed, another thing in reference to the all in one unit versus the two piece unit is that with the one piece you will still have use of the clothes bar in that closet if that is important to you. With the two piece unit, you will lose the clothes bar but will still have use of the upper shelf.

The "logic" is when it rains it normally isn't concentrated directly onto (thus into) the motor. Poor design on guttering and motor of the awning arm.

The problem is with a poor design awning motor assembly. The solera awnings are junk. KZ bought into a lousy deal with lci to save a couple bucks. Older models had carefree awnings ...no problems. Wait till people start bitching about their furion oven/range and audio electronics and Thomas Payne furniture. You think they would learn about all the other problems they have with most of the lci products they use.

But you don't have to compound the problem and direct more water to the motor. Anyway, like I already said, I don't hold much stock on the fix holding. ~sigh~
