So we just got a durango gold 385fl. It has a short amplified tv antenna that doesnt work well compared to the old crank up one our previous unit had. Any suggestions?

mkpaint Some of the owners have found bad or loose connectors on the coax, redone the problems have gone away ... They found on two trailers, ours last year an Edd505 a bad antenna, Edd's work somewhat but ours never worked ... Also check your amplifier, please remember that when using cable the amplifier needs to be off an using air it needs to be on ... Safe Travels Chuck

Like chuck said check the cable ends, the crimps are terrible. Found this useful trouble shooting plus a crimping tool. Tester about $25 at Lowes or Home Depot don't recall which.

Yep, had poor & loose connections plus a mystery splitter in the wall behind the TV. Tightened things up, got rid of the unneeded splitter. Reception is much better. While the stationary antenna isn't as good as the old crank up bat wings, I can get stations from the roof mtd antenna- and I live in the muddle of nowhere.

I bought a outdoor antenna from walmart and put it on a pole attached to my ladder. So far its working good. Talked to KZ and they told me they pay for mobile warranty work. So I am going to have that checked along with a few other things.

Mine is currently in the shop for the same problems as well as a long list of others we found on our first and second trip.

Open/unused connections will cause issues as well. Installing a termination cap on unused connections will improve your signal. The main tv in ours worked well because it was first inline to receive the signal. The tv in the outdoor kitchen was problematic from day 1. Once I installed the TVs in the bunkhouse and master, all of the open connections were closed and dramatically improved the picture and signal.
Also.... I encountered the “mystery splitter” behind the TV. That is where the stereo antenna ties in. I removed that and it screwed up my stereo reception, but did help improve the signal to the TVs.

We are out on our 3rd trip. First trip, used TV in main area with antenna, scratchy reception. Didn't think much due to area. Second trip use antenna with TV in outside storage bin, Did more work to align antenna. Worked great. Never really used inside TV's. This trip.(now) Hooked up to Cable.Upstairs bedroom TV super clear got all channels listed. Main area Not So Good.. (yes amp turned off). Found loose cables behind upstairs TV, down stairs TV, still very bad reception on main TV. I ended up using a slitter and ran 1 cable to "cable" and one to "Satellite" which runs to (F) for satellite connection behind main TV. Hooked to "F" then to main TV and perfect reception. So somewhere theirs a bad connection between the runs by the upstairs TV and main TV. By the schematic drawing they give in the manual package the cable in go's up to the bedroom TV then splits off to main, storage and for us patio too.
I got it working now, I'll pull those wall plug connections apart above the bedroom TV and look at the wiring in the walls at a later date.

I found cable ends loose so good connection until I drive and the wires move.
