Hi KZ family! Happy Thanksgiving early Anyone have experience with the following LP tank monitors? mopeka.com/ They are called LP Tank Check and you can get one or two sensors. They look fairly new to the market and was looking for input. I currently use the cheap in line BBQ gauges for a quick reference, and know they are not real accurate as I have had to run out in jammies when it's cold to switch tanks. Always seems to happen at 2-3 AM!!! Looking for all input Have a great and safe holiday season!! Bobcat

From what I have read about them they are not that great and only work on 20lb tanks?

I have seen some digital units on youtube that I think actually switch tanks etc. I bet they are expensive though. I will try to find it.

Interested and following. Would be nice to know how much fuel I have left in the current tank before going to bed at night.

Agreed Hanr3, always seems to happen before 2-3 am!
I tinkered with a set in the back yard and they seem to work well. So I bought a set during the "Black Friday" sale. May be a few weeks before I can get out in my rig and let you folks know on performance!

I purchased and installed the Mopeka LP tank sensors last spring. They have worked flawlessly throughout the season providing very accurate tank levels direct to my cell phone. Not sure how long the batteries will last but replacing the batteries is not a big deal especially when I have my LP tank levels close at hand.

Thanks Sprocket! Good to hear, and my understanding is the same with the battery replacement. The company rep said they should last a year or more depending on how you had your alarms set and how often you checked them, along with if you were using cell or their monitor.
I purchased a set for my tanks but haven’t had the chance to use them. Will be going this weekend (fingers crossed). When I have more feedback I will be glad to share.
Stay warm, and happy holidays! Bobcat

Hi all! Here is a quick update on the sensors. They are super easy to install, if you don't mind wrestling the 30 lb tanks a bit. They are held in place with some decent magnets and the company supplies little feet to put on the bottom of the tank so add space so the sensor is not crushed by the tank. I've used them for over a week now with good response and have posted a screen shot below so you can see how they read. I think in the future I will invest in the spacer rings rather than the feet provided since I could see them being knocked off moving the tanks around. And I can say if the tanks are not level you will get strange readings. They are also coming out with a gateway to their cloud so you can remotely monitor, (which I may invest in) right now they connect via bluetooth to their monitor or your smart phone(their app is free). Currently I am pleased with the performance and the accuracy is much better than the inline BBQ gauges, not to mention they fit better. The gauges add about 4 inches and if you have tight quarters will cause an issue. Also the company is now sending units with dielectric grease to help with conductivity on older tanks. I may add some soon to my newer tanks for future use. I have also seen a drop in price for the dual sensors since I purchased before Christmas, so that is a good thing. Any questions feel free to contact me!! Bobcat

Glad to hear it's working well. I had read that people were not having a lot of success with using them on 30 gallon tanks.

Is there a display in the camper, or do I have to use a smart phone? I'm not a smart phone fan.

They do have a separate sensor panel you can mount inside which is also wireless. You can google Mopeka products and they have a video.

Hi All!
Here is a update on the tank monitors. I was away for a few weeks, and when I get back my phone connected immediately and the level check was very close to the last reading when I left. I may invest in their latest gateway to upload information to the cloud so I can check remotely. This way when I have a friend turn the heat on as needed, I can let them know when to fill tanks if I am not around. Wish they would let you use your own device for uploading, and may check with them on that.
So far I think the investment was worth it! And no more crimped gas lines using the BBQ gauges which are iffy at best.
Stay warm! Bobcat
