We have a Sonic 190VRB TT. Anyone have any experience with the toilet filling up while in storage. The grey and water tanks are drained. all the faucet valves are opened to relieve any residual pressure in the lines. Once pressure is all off it appears the toilet valve does not shut off tight and water is coming into the toilet from somewhere. The toilet valve DOES NOT LEAK while it is hooked up to fresh water or while in use....just in storage. It does not overflow the bowls but and we must drain the toilet prior to trailering after it sits in storage. The water is fesh clean water.
The only source of any amount of water is the water heater and maybe since the fill/flush valve leaks when there is no pressure on the system it is just equalizing level. Sonic/KZ was contacted and never heard of this. I have not contacted the toilet provider. Just curious if anyone else has this issue. Yes, the vent caps to the tanks are intact. We cannot find a drain on the water heater. We do find that we have to "vent air" from the hot water heater prior to turning it on when we camp through the faucets. Thanks for your help.

I have no idea what would cause your problem. A quick easy fix could be to add a sharkbite shutoff valve to use while in storage.

I can understand why KZ said they haven't heard of anything like this, because neither have I. This doesn't mean it isn't happening. Could be as you theorize some sort of pressure equalization or a weird siphon effect. It will be interesting to hear if the toilet manufacturer has any thoughts. I have a question. Do you drain the water system prior to storage? You might try leaving the low point valve open, then operate the toilet valve to drain any residual water from the supply line. Please let us know what the end result is.

I did have a weird effect one time with my toilet. The campground had a problem with the city water and we were only getting barely a trickle. Someone flushed the toilet under those circumstances. A few hours later, the toilet was nearly full with water. The problem didn't go away until we had regular pressure back to the RV. (Luckily at the same time I had a leaky gasket, otherwise it would've overflowed... but that's a different story ) Anyway, my theory was that the water inlet on the toilet didn't have adequate pressure to seal itself back up, leaving a gap that allowed water to flow slowly into the toilet. Are you leaving water in the bowl, or do you shut off the water and empty the bowl before putting it into storage? If the latter, maybe it's the same thing but siphoning or pulling water from other lines in your RV?

This is very strange, I have never heard of this either, Hummmmmm, you sure you have drained all water from your system including hot water heater an fresh water tank....
If you have emptied all the water out in the trailer you should not have any water anywhere only antifreeze in your system which should not be under any pressure if as stated you left the pet cock open on your fresh water tank an the drain plug on the water heater out ....
I also would like to hear how this is happening
Safe travels
