My husband and I are seriously leaning towards buying a 2019 Escape 201bh. This will be our first RV purchase, so we have a lot of questions. One of the questions is related to roofs. Does this model have an aluminum roof? Are aluminum roofs durable or are they problematic? We really like the Winnebago micro Minnie that was similar, however it doesn't have a sink in the bathroom. Are there big differences in quality of construction between the Winnebago and the KZ, as far as walls, floors, roofs? Also someone on this forum posted to stay away from a certain KZ dealer that was represented at the Hershey RV show. Does anyone know who that dealer is? I think there are only three dealers in central Pennsylvania that sell KZ.

From what I can see from the KZ site this unit does have an aluminum roof. Nothing wrong or right with an aluminum roof. They are very durable, resistant to tree limbs. Only real issue is if water gets between where the roof material sits on the rafters you can have corrosion holes develop where there are steel staples or screws due to electrolysis. However this is only an issue if you have a leak in the first place - and a leak, regardless of roof type is something that needs to be dealt with ASAP. Everyone reads out of the same book when designing & building RV's, and arguments can be made for/ against any feature / construction method. Winnebago builds a nice RV, so does KZ (I will admit some prejudice here) in the end, buy what floor plan works for you & offers the best value.

Thanks for the insight! We love the layout of the 201bh, and it seems like a good value.

CLF1209 I like nvguy I will admit I also have some prejudice here that Kz makes a pretty darn good product an the care about such ...
Do they make make mistakes, yes, but I believe you will find fewer complains about problems with construction quality than the other MFG of TT an 5th wheels reading a number of other RV web sites an forms ...
If you keep a sharp eye out for problems before they happen or seeing such shortly after it happens you will have a nice trailer for years to come with any trailer, its as nvguy stated, it's all in what you like in a floor plan Safe Travels Chuck
