Just joined this forum. The KZ we have is our third TT - but first KZ and first 5th wheel. Lovely Wife and I are on our second trip out with this rig and I think we’ve got just about everything to our liking. I’ve been wandering around the board looking at the various topics as I have lots of questions, but I want to avoid duplicating other threads. We’ve been RV-ing off and on for about a year now and have upgraded our camper twice and our tow vehicle once. I think we’re finished upgrading for a while . Our current plan is to make sure that we have a little more than a basic idea what we’re doing before we take off on a 4 or 5 month trip to visit a few friends and family in the eastern half of the US along with a bit of sight seeing along the way. Then a stop-off back here in Illinois to make sure things are all in order before we head west to one of our children’s states to live (either Idaho or Colorado). Staying full-time in the camper is still an option, but we’ll see what happens.

Hello and welcome to the forum, good info and people here. Don't hesitate asking question for fear of duplicating a thread, sometimes searching threads on forums can be imprecise.

ChuckAB Welcome to the Kz form an family
One of the things that the DW has found out is before leaving she always overstocks the pantry an forgets that she is not boon docking 50 miles from no where ... We go to Costco an stock up on toilet paper an paper towels an Keurig coffee (Kirkland breakfast blend) an the rest we can always find a local store for anything else ...
We also have gas buddy app an RV parky app loaded on the DW phone to find the cheapest fuel an camp grounds,
we also belong to Good Sam an KOA ...
Safe Travels an hope to see you on the road

If your planing on coming out here in the west right now make sure you buy a set of chains for your vehicle an trailer... Chains are required to be carried beginning Oct. 1st till April 1st in Idaho an in Colorado's Sept 1st till May 31 ...
If you do not have such they will not let you travel over mountain passes an if trying they have pretty stiff fines Ugh !!!
You will see in some states it states Commercial vehicles traveling on certain roads must carry chains such as Colorado ...
Believe me if you are stuck on a mountain grade either going up or down an blocking traffic they will fine you for not having
chains an also blocking the road no matter what type of vehicle you have ...
Safe Travels an again Welcome !!!!

Not going much more than an hour from here to not only shake the bugs out, but make sure I know how to handle my rig. Our major move is to start next spring and tour a few places east of the Mississippi for 4 to 6 months. Then a stop back in Illinois to wrap up anything that needs done and then head west. Eventually, we intend to either plant in Colorado to be near our daughter, or in Idaho to be near our son. Whether or not to just stay in the camper will be decided then. In the mean time, we’re going to winterize the beast and store it from after our next outing next week until next spring.
Chains for the trailer, too?
