We are thinking about an upgrade from a Kodiak bumper pull to a KZ fifth wheel. I have read several bad reviews and I’m worried about the product

cpierce5319,
No matter what manufacturer you choose there will be issues. After all, you are towing this thing down the road at approx. 60MPH+ (a constant rolling earthquake). Have towed our 2016 Durango 315RKD over 27,000 miles so far and yes we've had minor issues but still happy with it. A manufacturer will never be able to please everyone. And besides, what is an issue for me may not be for someone else. Periodic maintenance is key, find problems when they are small. Good luck with your decision. Happy Campin....

Can you list your concurs, any of the MFG of 5th wheels have problems of one sort of another, as far as I know Kz seems to have fewer an really care about there product an owners
In my mind i would worry more about the selling dealer of the product, as you can read on this form there are really good dealers an then there are dealers who only want your money an kick you out the door an service or warranty work is next to nothing ....
I can tell you that Kz listens to their customer base, they step up to the plate an back there 2 year warranty way
beyond whats needed to make customers happy, they bend over backwards ...
We have had our Durango Gold for now close to two years, we have not had any major problems with our unit an only a few minor problems which Kz fixed, not so much are selling dealer ... We have done some upgrades to make our trailer are own, such as MorRyde Suspension, Pin Box, (not that the LCI suspension wasn't good, it is, we just wanted something a little better, an upgrade so to speak), G rated tires which Kz now puts on the Durango Gold 300 series an I believe 2500 series ...
am coming from

Like chuck mines close to two years old, guess 15,000 miles or more. Every issue I have had was products KZ installed, not workmanship. KZ has been great to deal with in getting all issues fixed. They can authorize repairs by any shop when the dealers 100 miles or more away. I have had a couple TT & am on my 3rd 5W. I would not hesitate to buy another KZ.

You will find negative reviews no matter what you are considering. Lots of people have unrealistic expectations, and some people are just never happy. We have had our Durango for just about 2 years / 8,600 miles nothing major to complain about, everything works as designed. Would we buy another KZ product? Yes.

OK ... I’d like to add my $0.02 (which may only be worth $0.01) ... we are full time travelers, so our selling dealer is NEVER where we might have an issue. If you are a “summer camper” then your selling dealer might be important. We have NEVER returned our rig to our selling dealer for any service work. We live in our rig so “dropping it off” at a dealer for a couple of weeks/months is not an option. We have only used mobile techs on our dime, or factory techs on their dime. Your mileage may vary.

I will say it over an over, no matter what brand or trailer you buy do a very good PDI when buying a trailer it is very, very, very important !!!!!!!!!!!
As well do not sign anything excepting your trailer before they complete any an all problems that you found while doing your PDI, if you have to come back so be it, but again do not sign anything before work is done !!!
Also inspect the trailer again before signing anything to make sure the work has been done !!!!
DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD FOR SUCH !!!!!
Good luck an safe travels
