So after owning my toy hauler for a little over a month, I thought it would be nice to create a shopping list of must have's for the factory..... Starting with a good pair of electrical crimpers, a vacuum cleaner, a hole saw kit, and a tape measure. What else can you think of??? LOL.

I doubt you mean to go to KZ for these items. If you go in the next month or so, keep an eye on the weather.

The book "Plumbing for Dummies" might help.

A little electrical kit with some wire, a meter, electrical tape and assorted connectors.
A couple different sized hammers.
An 18v rechargeable drill with an assortment of heads.
A small mechanics toolkit that has wrenches, sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
Rope that you can cut to tie things as needed.
A good knife.

LOL, I saw all these things at the factory last month, well not the assortment of heads for the drill but everything else, maybe a newer version of such LOL
As stated someplace on one of these threads, you have to think about this, Amish do not have electricity in the home an barns for the most part an now they are wring trailers for MFG's ... I have to say thought I now see that they have to have LED's on the buggy's so they can be seen better at night, wonder how that wiring job looks
Looking at the runs of wires on the trailers on the production line last month I had to shake my head an think how in the world do they know what wire is going were with a number of the wires hanging there, Ugh !!
Safe Travels

Chuck - a few years ago I stopped by the New Horizons factory in Grand Junction, CO. Amazing, I think. If they still do it, they manufacture everything from the ground up. Frame and all. One thing I noticed was a lady doing a wire loom on a board. Every wire was mounted, secured, and labeled. They pick up the board and take it to the rig. She told me that each wire in the trailer was likewise marked and secured. All they had to do was make the final connections and test, before the walls were finished. Naturally it comes at a price. When I was there they told me their average yearly production was 52 to 60 rigs. They are a truly custom company, but now selling some spec units.

They may have a custom wiring harness but overall are poorly designed. For the most part they still rely on and use the same components and materials as the rest of the industry, and they still use staples to hold everything together, and they will fall apart just as fast.
There are a number of New Horizons (12) in the CG where we winter and talking to the owners the only things they all agree on is that they would never by another.
They do have nice paint jobs though.

I've been in them, too, across the country. Sure, not everything is 100%, it can't be anything but <100%. But, the ones I was in had very few, if any, problems. Yes the same appliances - those problems can't be helped, but they, like others, only install them. The ones I've been in is the reason I went to the source and checked them out. But, unfortunately, out of my price range. That's my take, and you'rs is different, and that's more than okay.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that no matter how much you spend you will always have problems.
I love to look at them and I love to talk to the owners to get their opinion and would actually consider buying one if I could just get some real good feedback about them, unfortunately it is pretty much the same no matter who I talk to. Shake, rattle and roll down the highway, stuff falls off, breaks, stops working and leaks same as what I have now at 1/3 the cost. If I want better furniture or mattress I'll do it myself and still have a lot less invested.
On another note, in my travels I have yet to see a Spacecraft other than at the RV shows.

I would get the factory a bucket that I would put $ 500.00 in for each unit completed (total is shared at the end of the month), but I would remove $ 20.00 for each warranty item - once the money is gone, it starts coming out of pay checks- also shared at the end of the month.

Some adhesive for all the trim piece's. That way the trim woundnt be dependant on just the little finish nails to stay in place.

I think instead of peace work they like LCI change over to hourly an slow down a tad bit, hast makes waste On the wiring I saw the looms in the 5th wheel plant at Kz, they all seem to run on the right side down the left side (Driver Side) on the roof an also along the bottom thought the floor, I did see labels on some of the wiring ... I even saw a fluke multi meter on a bench ... Safe Travels Chuck

The book "Plumbing for Dummies" might help. Add wiring for Dummies --- KZ wiring done by Amish who don't use electricity, that's funny.
