As some of you who have met the DW an I we have a couple of dogs who travel with us, yesterday we had to put down our Great Dane on our way home sad to say in Rawlins Wyoming ... It came to the point were he couldn't hold his stool, wouldn't eat, couldn't keep from falling down from his weak back legs ...
We were hoping that he would make it back to Washington State before we would have to do this but it wasn't in the cards, he was a butt head
at times but loved to travel an sleep on the couch at home an in our 5th wheel ... As we all know there comes a time that we have to do these things an know it's going to happen, we only wish it wouldn't happen so soon with the larger dog since they don't live a long as the small breeds ...
So now we only have one smaller female dog to travel with us an we do not see it in the cards to get another Great Dane ...
Safe Travels
Chuck

I'm so sorry Chuck. It's always hard to lose them, but this seems especially hard. Best wishes for the rest of your trip home.

Sorry for your loss. We had to let our "old man" go earlier this year, and I still feel his absence. Dogs are some of my favorite people.

Chuck ... I just read this and I am sorry for your loss. Dogs become part of the family, so losing one just hurts your heart. When we put down our last Greyhound, I cried like a baby. God bless you and Hildi.

Just read your post. So sorry for your loss. They become such a part of your life. Camped last weekend next to a couple with a Great Dane. He was a big friendly goof ball that loved attention.
We lost our English Bulldog about 18 months ago, he was 9yrs old. It broke our hearts and we said we wouldn't do it again.
Well two weeks ago the situation changed and we have another English Bulldog in our lives.
