Problem - All these programs used contracted providers. They have no control. GS when I last used them several years ago used Allstate Motor Club. I can't believe that AAA had no providers close to you, unless you were in the desert or high on a plateau. I couldn't believe it either. I was basically right between Cleveland, Ohio and Pittsburgh, PA. I was 8 miles from my house, definitely not in a very remote area. I asked AAA what I have been paying RV for all these years and they just kept saying that they will reimburse the expense if they can't help.

Heres a question to ask your insurer. If I get disabled away from home will you get my TV & RV home? My wife does not pull the 5W so IF I had an issue she needs assistance getting the 5W home, she can drive the truck.
PS: I was just on the GS web site & wow a Good Sam assistance Forum - look to the bottom for length of time on entries -Today-week -30 days etc.

We have GS but have never had to use it. I think, the $79 rate is probably an introductory rate.... You are correct. I purchased a year ago at the $79 rate. A few months ago, I received a bill for $139.99. Called them and they wouldn't budge on the rate. Decided not to renew.

Am I see that right on RvNet ? They closed the thread after a week of questions? Edd505, I have threads I started years ago that are still going. I'm thinking somebody doesn't like bad talk about GS, even if its real.

I was OP on this thread. I switched last fall and did have the need to use it. It was a convoluted situation where they could have denied me coverage based on the situation and how things played out, but they came through in a big way for me. Good Sam has my business for the forseeable future.

Although I've put a couple of replies in this thread, I just want to tell of an instance where GS was aces.
With my 1st MoHo, back in the mid 90's, we were headed home on the NJ Garden State Parkway. We broke down coming out of the center tolls - a very, very busy area - Cranbury/Essex, NJ. We were able to make it to the shoulder. NJ parkway and turnpike use contracted services. We were towed to a supermarket lot. Called GS from there and bedded down with our friends in the RV. Next morning, bright and early, GS is on the phone to get things going. They asked to make sure we were okay and they wanted to provide the service. There was a Ford dealer in the area, but we were 100+ miles from home. They asked us where we wanted to go then. We decided on a Ford dealer with a very large truck repair department. It was just outside of Philadelphia. Within an hour a wrecker was there. Our Moho was 36' and we were towing. The wrecker was one of those big ones that tows buses and tractors, etc. Driver disconnected drive shaft first, but after he tried to get us going. We got what we needed, jumped in the car and headed home. The truck left with the MoHo. He had a 6 hour drive because he was too big/high for the Parkway's lower bridges. And with all the starts and stops, he was really moving slow. We did not put a penny out of pocket for that service, and GS followed through until we got the MoHo back.
A few other times, not that bad as this one, but it would have been a very big bill and hard time finding the resources.
We had one incident on our 1st cross-country trip, along I-10 to California and back. We came upon an old MoHo on the side. Brand new tires with 3 blow-outs. An older couple, with the husband walking to a service station which was a good 20 miles away. We helped them - called GS for them - they were members with our cell phone - their's couldn't get a signal. I went to get the husband and my wife stayed with her. We called their family for them. GS said it would take a few hours because of where they were. We waited, and sure enough, in about 2-1/2 hours, GS was there.
Some people say they aren't good, some, like me say otherwise. Everybody has their druthers. For me, GS came through hands down. I had a incident with a new coach that another service company denied to help because our coach was brand new. Only had them because it came with the coach.
So, for me, not gonna change. I've been satisfied.
Just me and my opinion.
Safe travels and hope you never need to use the service.

I switched from AAA to GS this year. My truck batteries died and I had to have it jumped. I waited for hours for someone to arrive. I finally called GS after 3 or 4 hours and they had someone there within 45 minutes. I think the tow company just ignored the request, some kid showed up in a little 4 cylinder gas beater with a battery pack. We ended up using both his car and the battery pack to get it started.
Wouldn't you think that GS would notice a call growing older and older when the original estimated time was 45 minutes to begin with?
I told them I wasn't happy with my first call, but never got a response.

Yep, good 'ol Marcus Lemonis. Camping world was never the best, but now, how many people do you ever see in their store. I made a mistake of having them install a OTA, and after a month they still don't have it. Wait until they get my fuel and time bill.

We have Coach net an USAA, both have been great, I had a flat on the inside dual on our truck, USAA called every 1/2 hour till the service guy arrived ... We had a blow out on our old 5th wheel three years ago, again USAA came thought an had a service guy there to change the tire in less that 30 minutes in the middle of no where ... Maybe some people have good luck with GS but all I have read is nothing but bad news on the reflectors I am on Safe Travels Chuck

You can go to RV.net and by digging around can find a Good Sams Road side assistance forum. forums.goodsamclub.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/listings/forum/91/sub/-/days/365/srt/lr . It's buried way down so it's really had to find (they don't want it found) If you have an issue "Ella" will contact you & ask for a phone number and that will be the last anyone on the forum will see. Pages of complaints on service with thier program, you get what you pay for, cheap almost nonexistent service and lot's of excuses why it's not covered.
